On August 18, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dieu - Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee - inspected the preparation work at the inauguration ceremony of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, the bridge connecting Dong Thap - Vinh Long provinces.
At the scene, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dieu and the working group surveyed the traffic infrastructure leading to the area, electricity and water systems, security and order, environmental sanitation as well as items serving the ceremony.
He requested relevant units to closely coordinate and urgently complete the remaining work, ensuring the ceremony took place solemnly, safely and on schedule.

Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is a key project, which is expected by the people because when put into operation, it will contribute to reducing traffic pressure on the existing route, shortening travel time between Dong Thap and Vinh Long, and at the same time opening up opportunities for socio-economic development for the whole area.
According to the Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, the inauguration of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is not only a traffic infrastructure event but also an important milestone in the development process of the Mekong Delta.
"I request that sectors and localities coordinate well, creating conditions for the inauguration day to take place successfully, meeting the people's expectations," Mr. Dieu emphasized.
The inauguration of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is one of the projects included in the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony of 250 projects and works with a total investment of VND 1,280,000 billion to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
Started on March 29, 2022, Rach Mieu 2 Bridge has a total investment of more than VND 6,810 billion, connecting Vinh Long and Dong Thap on National Highway 60. The main bridge is 1.97 km long, with a scale of 4 lanes, and a approach road of 15.15 km. Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is expected to help reduce the load on Rach Mieu Bridge, which is often congested during the holidays, as well as contribute to promoting regional economic development.
