North Korean President Kim Jong Un warmly welcomed General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to a state visit to North Korea and to attend the 80th anniversary of the founding of the North Korean Workers' Party; emphasizing that this visit is of special significance, creating a strong driving force to enhance mutual understanding, strengthen political trust and promote the relationship between the two Parties and two countries to new heights, towards completing the socialist development goals of each country; at the same time contributing to supporting the development of North Korea.
Expressing his pleasure at visiting the State level to North Korea in his new position, right on the occasion of the solemn 80th anniversary of the founding of the North Korean Labor Party (October 10, 1945 - October 10, 2025) and the two sides celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and North Korea, General Secretary To Lam warmly congratulated the great achievements in the cause of building and developing the brotherly North Korea over the past 80 years.
The General Secretary believes that with the motto of "taking the people as the root", "united heart" and " Providing self-reliance", North Korea will fulfill the tasks and goals set by the North Korean Labor Party, opening a new era of the restoration of a rich and comprehensive nation.
The two leaders expressed their delight at the continued consolidation and strengthening of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries, and agreed to promote the Vietnam-North Korea relationship to enter a new stage of more practical and effective development, contributing to the implementation of each country's development goals, for the happiness of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability and development of the region and the world.
General Secretary To Lam suggested that the two sides promote the effectiveness of Party channel cooperation, study the organization of theoretical exchanges, promote bilateral and multilateral parliamentary cooperation; enhance mutually beneficial economic cooperation, in line with the development goals of both sides and international regulations.
General Secretary To Lam also hopes that the two sides will expand their strengths in cooperation areas with great potential such as culture, sports, tourism, education, health, information and communication, and building radio and television programs introducing the culture, country and people of each country.
Highly appreciating and approving the cooperation proposals of General Secretary To Lam, President Kim Jong Un affirmed that North Korea wishes to cooperate closely with Vietnam in Party building and national development, and is ready to promote cooperation in many appropriate fields.
President Kim Jong Un suggested that Party agencies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and departments, branches and localities of both sides increase exchanges of specific measures to effectively implement the major orientations on the development of bilateral relations reached during this visit, thereby bringing the Vietnam - North Korea relationship into a new stage of development, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries.
The two leaders discussed regional and international situations, agreed to strengthen cooperation, support each other and coordinate at multilateral forums such as the United Nations and the ASEAN Regional Forum.
General Secretary To Lam affirmed his support for relevant parties in promoting dialogue, resolving differences by peaceful means, and jointly maintaining a peaceful environment, stabilizing cooperation and development on the Korean peninsula.
The General Secretary suggested that North Korea actively support efforts to promote respect for international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, reduce tensions, and stabilize disagreements and disputes in accordance with international law.
