Gia Lai organizes the death anniversary of Emperor Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue at the Tay Son Tam Kiet Temple Relic Site, commemorating the 234th anniversary of his death.

On September 10th (ie July 29th of the lunar calendar), at the Tay Son Tam Kiet Temple Relic Site, within the Quang Trung Museum campus (Tay Son commune), Gia Lai province, a flower and incense offering ceremony and a death anniversary ceremony were held to commemorate the 234th anniversary of the death of Emperor Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue (1792-2026).

The death anniversary ceremony aims to commemorate and express gratitude for the merits of Emperor Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue in the cause of struggle to protect and unify the country; and at the same time review the indomitable tradition of the Tay Son peasant movement.

This is also an opportunity to educate today's generations, especially the younger generation, about national pride, patriotic tradition and awareness of preserving the historical values of the homeland.

The Tay Son peasant uprising movement in the second half of the 18th century is associated with the career of the 3 brothers Nguyen Nhac, Nguyen Hue and Nguyen Lu. Among them, Nguyen Hue - Emperor Quang Trung is a typical figure, the person who turned the Tay Son movement from a peasant uprising into a national liberation struggle movement.

Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue was one of the talented generals of the Tay Son movement. He commanded many major campaigns, contributing to overthrowing feudal forces and eliminating the state of national division.

In 1785, the Tay Son army under the command of Nguyen Hue defeated the Siamese army in the Rach Gam - Xoai Mut battle. In early 1789, he commanded the Tay Son army to defeat the Qing army in the Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da victory, protecting national independence.

Emperor Quang Trung passed away on July 29, Nham Ty year 1792, at the age of 39, leaving behind many unfinished ambitions.

Every year, the death anniversary of Emperor Quang Trung is an occasion for people to come to Quang Trung Museum to offer incense and commemorate the national hero and the leaders of the Tay Son movement.

Ms. Do Thi Sau (60 years old, residing in Binh An commune) said that every year on death anniversaries and Tet, she comes to offer incense to commemorate King Quang Trung and the Tay Son brothers.

According to Mrs. Sau, this is a belief, also an opportunity to pray for family and work in the year to be smooth and favorable.

Quang Trung Museum currently preserves many artifacts related to the Tay Son movement. Tay Son Tam Kiet Temple is built on the old foundation of the 3 Tay Son brothers' house.

In the old garden of King Quang Trung's family, there are still 2 relics preserved: an old well and an ancient tamarind tree.
