The conference aims to evaluate the situation and results achieved in the aspects of public security work in the first 6 months of the year, existing problems and limitations to propose appropriate policies, solutions and measures, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals, requirements and tasks of the City Police in 2025.
According to the report of Hanoi Police, in the first 6 months of the year, the City Police continued to absolutely protect the security and safety of important national gatherings and events taking place in the capital.

In the fight against crimes and economic law violations, 1,412 cases with 1,636 subjects were detected, investigated and examined (a decrease of 581 cases = 29% compared to the same period in 2024). Notably, on May 15, CATP dismantled the case, prosecuted 7 defendants for the crime of producing fake functional foods, which occurred in Hanoi involving many companies; seized nearly 100 tons of exhibits. detected, investigated, and examined 3,139 cases of crimes and violations of environmental laws, and prosecuted: 34 cases, 50 defendants.
At the Conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung stated that since March 1, 2025, CATP has stepped into a new, historically unprecedented management and operation method, which is not organizing district-level police; implementing the reorganization of commune-level police in the city when implementing the 2-level local government model officially from July 1, 2025 (126 new commune and ward police units officially came into operation on the basis of reorganizing 526 old units).
Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung requested that from now until the end of the year, to effectively implement the targets, goals and tasks of public security work set out in 2025; at the same time, prove the effectiveness of operating the new apparatus effectively, efficiently and effectively.
The new commune-level police need to be closer to the people, closer to the people, taking the people's satisfaction as the goal, creating the most favorable conditions for businesses and people; resolutely fighting against all types of crimes in the area, not accepting the "people know but the police do not know", in accordance with the direction of General Secretary To Lam.

At the Conference, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee issued a Decision approving the participation in the Standing Committee, holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term for Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Quyen, Deputy Director of the City Party Committee.
The leaders of the Ministry of Public Security signed a decision to appoint Colonel Nguyen Duc Long, Deputy Director of Hanoi Police Department, as Head of the Hanoi Investigation Police Agency;
Colonel Le Van Tuan, Deputy Director of CATP, was appointed as Head of the Criminal Enforcement Agency, Head of the Hanoi City Police Detention and Temporary Detention Management Agency.
