On the morning of December 11, the 35th Session - the regular session at the end of 2025 of the 18th Nghe An Provincial People's Council officially opened. At this session, delegates elected Mr. Thai Van Thanh - Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training, to hold the position of Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee.
Mr. Thai Van Thanh, 56 years old, from Thanh Vinh ward (Nghe An province), is a professor and PhD in education. Before taking on the new position, he had been with Vinh University for many years, holding the position of Vice Principal. He has many research projects and has been awarded the title of Excellent Teacher.
In March 2019, he was elected Party Secretary and Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training, becoming the first professor to hold this position in the province. He is currently a member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education, a delegate to the 15th National Assembly.
After the reform, the leaders of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee include Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai and Vice Chairmen Bui Thanh An, Nguyen Van De, Hoang Phu Hien, Phung Thanh Vinh and Thai Van Thanh.
Also at this session, the People's Council of Nghe An province will discuss two key groups of issues, including: effectiveness of State management in responding to and resolving the consequences of natural disasters and restoring sustainable livelihoods for people; digital transformation in the activities of State agencies in the province.
