Combine 2 months of pension to pay on Tet holiday

The Prime Minister requested to strictly prohibit giving or receiving Tet gifts to leaders at all levels in any form; to pay two months of pension and social insurance benefits together.

Ensure that civil servants, public employees and workers are paid full salaries and bonuses.

On December 19, the Government Office announced that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed and issued a Directive on strengthening measures to ensure a joyful, healthy, safe, and economical Lunar New Year 2025.

The Ministry of Transport shall preside over and coordinate with ministries, branches and localities to strengthen the regulation and strictly manage transportation activities to serve people's travel needs during the Lunar New Year, and prevent people from returning home late for Tet due to lack of means of transportation.

Strengthen inspection of the implementation of declaration and posting of freight rates, train and bus ticket prices according to regulations; organize smooth transportation of goods before, during and after Tet, especially in remote areas, ethnic minority areas, and islands.

The Ministry of Public Security shall strengthen the work of ensuring traffic order and safety, have plans to minimize traffic congestion before, during and after Tet; strictly handle violations of the law on traffic order and safety, especially those related to the use of alcohol, beer and prohibited substances while driving.

Vietnam Social Security has done a good job of resolving and paying social insurance and unemployment insurance benefits to ensure they are adequate and timely for beneficiaries; and has made lump-sum payments of two months' pension and social insurance benefits (January and February 2025) in the January 2025 payment period to create conditions for policy beneficiaries to enjoy the spring and celebrate Tet.

It is strictly forbidden to give or receive Tet gifts to leaders at all levels.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Home Affairs to preside over and coordinate with ministries, branches and localities to strengthen propaganda and dissemination to cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers to strictly implement regulations on public service culture, discipline, administrative discipline, practice thrift, combat waste and prevent corruption.

The People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities shall, based on the practical situation, capacity and conditions of the locality, decide to organize fireworks displays to welcome the New Year to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere among the people, without using the state budget in accordance with regulations.

The Prime Minister requested agencies in the state administrative system to strengthen the work of preventing and combating waste and negativity; strictly implement the ban on organizing visits and New Year greetings to superiors and leaders at all levels.

Do not organize Central delegations to visit and extend New Year greetings to Party committees and authorities of provinces and cities; strictly prohibit giving or presenting New Year gifts to leaders at all levels in any form.

Do not use state budget, vehicles, and public assets against regulations for festival and entertainment activities; do not use alcohol when participating in traffic; do not participate in superstitious activities; leaders at all levels are only allowed to attend pagodas and festivals when assigned.

Strengthening the dissemination, direction, detection, prevention and strict handling of acts causing harassment and inconvenience to businesses and people in handling work, strengthening measures to prevent negativity and corruption in public service activities.

Create conditions for businesses to stabilize and maintain production and business activities, striving to achieve the highest level of set goals and targets.

Immediately after the Tet holiday, agencies, organizations and units urgently focused on work, not allowing delays to affect production and business activities, striving to complete tasks right from the first month of the year, especially on schedule, summarizing Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, streamlining the organization and apparatus of the political system to operate effectively and efficiently.
