Representatives of the Vietnam Navy have informed about participating in joint patrols and joint training with the Chinese Navy in the near future.

On March 10, at a press conference introducing the 10th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, representatives of the Navy Command (QCHQ) said that QCHQ will send a formation of 2 ships 015 Tran Hung Dao and ship 012 Ly Thai To of Brigade 162 (Navy Region 4) to participate in joint patrols and joint training with the Chinese Navy.

It is expected that within the framework of joint patrols and training, there will be a number of main activities such as: The two sides will hold a meeting to agree on a plan to implement the content of joint patrols and joint training;

The Ministers of National Defense of Vietnam and China and the delegations of the two countries listened to the commanders of the two patrol boat flotillas of Vietnam and China report on the preparation for organizing joint patrols, joint training and organizing visits to each other's ships; Delegates and forces participating in the departure ceremony reported to the Ministers of National Defense of each side to issue orders to start implementing the content of joint patrols.

The two sides will conduct training subjects such as formation movement, maritime escort, handling light information at sea, anti-piracy training, coordinating to share search and rescue experiences, and fighting to protect the life of ships.

Representatives of QCHQ said that the above activities are aimed at contributing to building a friendly and solidarity relationship between the Armies of the two countries in general and between the Vietnamese and Chinese Navies in particular. At the same time, consolidating the capacity and experience of operations at sea, expanding foreign defense relations between the Vietnamese Navy and the Chinese Navy.

Within the framework of the 10th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, major activities will take place in Vietnam (March 18) and in China (March 19).

In Vietnam, there will be a welcoming and sending ceremony for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense Delegation at Mong Cai International Border Gate (Quang Ninh province); friendship tree planting ceremony; groundbreaking ceremony for the Hai Son Friendship Health Station project; visit to Tran Phu High School; visit to Tra Co Border Guard Station; talks between the two Ministers of National Defense.

In China, it is expected to have a welcoming and sending ceremony for the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense Delegation at Dongxing International Border Gate; visit the Border Guard Company, plant friendship trees at the Border Guard Company; Launching ceremony of the Joint Patrol and Joint Training in the Gulf of Tonkin sea area between the Vietnamese and Chinese Navies; visit the Ho Chi Minh Trail relic at sea; visit a local enterprise; lay wreaths at the Monument to the Martyrs of the Chinese People's Revolution - Vietnam.

Before the Exchange event, a number of practical activities will take place including: Medical examination, treatment, free medicine distribution to people in border areas between the military medical forces of the two countries; awarding scholarships to poor students in border areas; donating breeding cows to poor households in border areas (students and poor households of Vietnam). Activities according to the plan are organized at the Vietnam - China Friendship Cultural House (Hoanh Mo commune, Quang Ninh province).
