General Secretary To Lam expressed his delight at the very successful results of the talks between Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Shik; hoped that the legislative bodies of the two countries would continue to promote their role in promoting economic cooperation between the two countries, implementing many rich exchange and cooperation activities, contributing to enhancing political trust and relations between the two countries' lawmakers; improving the effectiveness of the National Assembly's activities, contributing to the development of Vietnam - Korea relations.
The General Secretary suggested that the two sides continue to expand cooperation and regularly exchange delegations and channels of the Party, State, Government and National Assembly, creating a foundation for expanding comprehensive cooperation in all fields; promptly sharing opinions on cooperation between the two countries as well as on regional and international situations, thereby deepening the Vietnam - Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
General Secretary To Lam suggested that Korea continue to improve the capacity of Vietnamese enterprises to participate more deeply in the global supply chain of Korean enterprises, thereby contributing to the completion of the goal of increasing bilateral trade turnover to 150 billion USD by 2030 in a balanced and sustainable direction; suggested that the two sides realize the implementation of bringing science and technology cooperation, innovation and digital transformation into a new pillar in bilateral relations; strengthen cooperation in human resource training and research on the development of strategic technology industries and strategic technology products; and promote cooperation, build core infrastructure such as artificial intelligence (AI), next-generation networks and data centers, build a legal and institutional framework to move towards the digital age of AI.
General Secretary To Lam suggested that the two sides expand cooperation between friendly organizations and enhance people-to-people exchanges, contributing to deepening cooperation between the two countries; paying attention to and creating conditions for the Vietnamese community to integrate, live, study and work stably and long-term in Korea; support overseas Vietnamese to become members of the Korean National Assembly; at the same time, continue to simplify visa procedures for Vietnamese citizens entering Korea and move towards visa exemption for Vietnamese citizens.
National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Shik expressed his delight at the remarkable development of bilateral relations in all fields since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992 until now, especially after officially upgrading the relationship to "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership"; trade cooperation between the two countries increased 170 times, people-to-people exchanges increased 2,500 times, reaching the milestone of 5 million visitors in 2024.
National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Shik suggested that the two sides continue to cooperate closely to promote the substantial development of defense cooperation; cooperate closely in preventing transnational crimes, especially high-tech crimes against online fraud in the region; suggest that Vietnam actively support and remove some difficulties for Korean enterprises, while creating conditions for Korean enterprises to participate in investing in key projects of Vietnam, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development of Vietnam in the coming time.
