On December 13, Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee held a conference to summarize the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of October 25, 2017 of the XII Party Central Committee.

Merge the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; merge the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Finance; merge the Department of Transport and the Department of Construction; merge the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; merge the Department of Information and Communications and the Department of Science and Technology; merge the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Department of Home Affairs.
Develop a draft Project to perfect the organizational structure, a draft Decision on the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Health, and the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee after receiving the functions and tasks of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
The province develops a project to establish the Ethnic and Religious Committee under the Provincial People's Committee. Develops a project to arrange, consolidate, and merge agencies and units at the district level as a guideline for arranging and organizing the apparatus of agencies at the provincial level; completes the implementation of the policy that the Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee is also the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at the district level.
The development of the Merger and Consolidation Project and draft regulations on the functions and tasks of the agencies after the merger and consolidation must be completed no later than December 25, 2024.
