On May 15, in Hanoi, General Secretary and President To Lam chaired a meeting of the Politburo to give opinions on the assessment of 3 years of implementing Resolution No. 31-NQ/TW of the Politburo on orientations and tasks for the development of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
At the meeting, delegates listened to reports and considered and evaluated the contents of Ho Chi Minh City implementing Resolution No. 31-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
Over the past time, Ho Chi Minh City has focused on close coordination with central agencies, departments, ministries, branches, experts, and scientists to urgently summarize practice and comprehensively assess the results of implementing Resolution No. 31-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
At the same time, the City proactively researched, advised, and proposed to the Politburo to consider issuing a new resolution on building and developing Ho Chi Minh City in the new era. The process of building the Project and draft resolution was carried out seriously and elaborately, closely following the practical development requirements of the city and the strategic orientations for national development in the new period.

The Politburo's concern for leading and directing the research and promulgation of a new Resolution for Ho Chi Minh City is of particular importance, showing the Central Government's deep concern, belief and great expectations for the city.
This is not only an important political basis for Ho Chi Minh City to continue to promote its leading role, the national growth pole, the economic, financial, scientific - technological and innovation center of the country and the region; but also to build a foundation for researching and building the Ho Chi Minh City Special Urban Law, gradually perfecting outstanding institutions, expanding development space and creating new impetus for the City to develop rapidly and sustainably in the coming period.
