On April 29, the People's Committee of Phu Tho Province reported No. 49/BC -UBND to the Government and the Ministry of Home Affairs - stating the results of collecting opinions of voters representing households on the Project on arranging administrative units (DVHC) of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh provinces and the Project on arrangement of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee in 2025.
According to the report, for the Project on arranging administrative units in Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Hoa Binh provinces, the results of the consultation were that the People are voters representing households in 207 communes, wards, and towns in Phu Tho province, with a total of 419,535 people representing households.
The number of household representative voters who collected opinions was 413,684 people (reaching 98.60%). In which: The number of voters in agreement was 412,389 people (reaching a rate of 98. 30%), the number of voters disagreeing was 1,207 people (reaching a rate of 0.29%).

Regarding the Project on arranging commune-level administrative units in Phu Tho province in 2025, the report stated the results of the consultation with the People who are voters representing households in 205 communes, wards and towns in Phu Tho province, with a total of 415,812 voters representing households.
The number of household representative voters who collected opinions was 409,800 people (reaching a rate of 98.55%). Of which, the number of voters in agreement was 405,756 people (reaching a rate of 97.58%), the number of voters disagreeing was 4,004 people (reaching a rate of 0.96%).
For Phu Tho province, after the arrangement and merger of commune-level administrative units, there are still 7 wards and 59 communes (there are still 66 administrative units, a reduction of 141 administrative units, equal to 68.12%).
Viet Tri city reduced from 20 to 5 commune-level administrative units, including 4 wards and 1 commune; Lam Thao district reduced from 12 to 4 commune-level administrative units; Phu Tho town reduced from 9 to 3 commune-level administrative units; Phu Ninh district reduced from 17 to 5 commune-level administrative units; Thanh Ba district reduced from 19 to 6 commune-level administrative units; Doan Hung district reduced from 14 to 5 commune-level administrative units;
Ha Hoa district has 6 commune-level administrative units from 20 to 6; Cam Khe district has 6 commune-level administrative units from 16; Tam Nong district has 4 commune-level administrative units from 12; Thanh Thuy district has 3 commune-level administrative units from 11; Thanh Son district has 7 commune-level administrative units from 23; Tan Son district has 6 commune-level administrative units from 17; Yen Lap district has 17 to 6 commune-level administrative units from 17.
In Phu Tho, the names of 13 districts, cities and towns are used to name 13 new commune-level administrative units; the names of one of the commune-level administrative units before the merger are prioritized to name the new commune-level administrative units.
