This morning (February 3, 2025), at the Party Central Committee headquarters, a conference was held to announce the Politburo's decisions on the establishment and appointment of personnel of 4 Party Committees directly under the Central Committee; Decisions on functions, tasks, powers, organizational structure, and working relationships of 3 Party agencies at the Central level.
General Secretary To Lam attended and presented the Politburo's decisions. Also attending the conference were Politburo members: President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
At the Conference, General Secretary To Lam presented the Decision on merging the Central Propaganda Department and the Central Mass Mobilization Department into the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee - was appointed Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission.
Also at the Conference, General Secretary To Lam presented the Decision on changing the name of the Central Economic Committee to the Central Policy and Strategy Committee.
Mr. Tran Luu Quang - Secretary of the Party Central Committee - was appointed Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Department.
Previously, in the official dispatch of the Central Steering Committee on summarizing Resolution 18, the tasks were clearly stated: The Central Propaganda Department shall preside over and coordinate with the Central Mass Mobilization Committee to develop a project to merge the Central Propaganda Department and the Central Mass Mobilization Committee; preside over and coordinate with the Central Organization Committee and relevant agencies to draft and submit to the Politburo for promulgation new regulations on the functions, tasks, powers, organizational structure, and working relationships of the new agency; propose the arrangement and assignment of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the current Central Propaganda Department and the Central Mass Mobilization Committee. This content must be completed before January 15, 2025.
