On September 3, at the National Assembly House, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet to say goodbye on the occasion of the end of his term of office in Vietnam.
Congratulating Ambassador Olivier Brochet on successfully completing his term of office in Vietnam, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated the Ambassador's positive and dedicated contributions in consolidating and further deepening the Vietnam-France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The National Assembly Chairman expressed his pleasure at the positive and comprehensive developments of the Vietnam-France relationship in recent times, including the contribution of the channel of cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the French Parliament through delegation exchanges and contacts between leaders, specialized agencies and parliamentarians of the two countries.
The National Assembly Chairwoman assessed that parliamentary cooperation has been and is continuing to be effective, contributing to opening a new stage of development with an increasingly deep and substantial cooperation framework for the Vietnam-France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. At the same time, the legislative bodies of the two countries have also promoted their role in supervising the implementation of cooperation agreements and commitments, thereby contributing to consolidating political trust and creating favorable conditions for bilateral relations to develop stably and sustainably.
Assessing that cooperation in the fields of politics - diplomacy, economy - trade, investment, science and technology, education - training, culture, people-to-people exchanges and parliamentary cooperation continues to be promoted, increasingly going deeper and more substantive, the National Assembly Chairwoman requested the two sides to continue to exchange delegations at all levels, maintain existing cooperation mechanisms, and continue to promote cooperation between localities of the two countries.
On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man announced that the Vietnamese National Assembly has established the Vietnam - France Friendship Parliamentary Group; and affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly is ready to closely coordinate with the French Parliament to continue to improve the legal framework, creating more favorable conditions for cooperation between the two countries in general and French businesses and investors in Vietnam in particular.
Thanking National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for taking the time to receive him, Ambassador Olivier Brochet expressed his appreciation for the concern and support of Vietnamese leaders and the close coordination of the National Assembly, agencies of the National Assembly, Government, ministries, branches and localities throughout his term of office.
The Ambassador affirmed that France values Vietnam's increasingly high role and position in the region and international arena; wishing to accompany Vietnam in the new era of development. The Ambassador positively assessed the dynamic development steps of the two countries' relations, in which cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the French Parliament has made practical contributions to consolidating political trust and strengthening multifaceted cooperation in bilateral relations.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man wished Ambassador Olivier Brochet continued success in his new position; hoped that the Ambassador would continue to be a close friend of Vietnam, contributing to fostering the traditional friendly relationship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and France to achieve new results.
