Hungary always considers Vietnam as the most important priority partner in Southeast Asia and wishes to further deepen the bilateral relationship in all fields.

At the invitation of Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and National Assembly Chairman of Hungary Kover Laszlo led a high-ranking delegation of the Hungarian National Assembly to pay an official visit to Vietnam from October 18 to 22.

During the visit, on the afternoon of October 20 at the National Assembly House, after the official welcoming ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Hungarian National Assembly Chairman Kover Laszlo held talks.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the relationship between the two countries has been a long-standing friendship and cooperation, Hungary is one of the first 10 countries to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam, affirming that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to promote the traditional friendship and multifaceted good cooperation with Hungary, Vietnam's first Comprehensive Partnership in Central and Eastern Europe.

The President of the Hungarian National Assembly affirmed that in its East-oriented policy, Hungary always considers Vietnam as the most important priority partner in Southeast Asia and wishes to further deepen the Vietnam-Hungary relationship in all fields, assessing that although the two countries are far from each other in geography, culture and history, few countries have close relations with Hungary like Vietnam; emphasizing that the two sides still have much room for cooperation in economy, trade, investment, tourism, education and training.

The two leaders agreed to continue to increase contacts and delegation exchanges at all levels, especially at high levels, through all channels of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly and people-to-people exchanges to further enhance political trust and mutual understanding, as a foundation for promoting and expanding bilateral cooperation in all fields.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Hungarian National Assembly Chairman Kover Laszlo agreed to deepen cooperation in areas such as science - technology, education - training, natural resources and environment, health, culture - tourism, etc.

The two sides agreed to increase exchanges of high-level leadership delegations of the National Assembly, professional committees and Friendship groups of Parliamentarians to exchange and share information and experience in the field of parliamentary activities; cooperate in supervising, urging and supporting the Government in effectively implementing high-level agreements and commitments; agreed on the main theme of the 6th legislative Conference between the two National Assemblies, scheduled to take place in the first half of 2026; promote close coordination and mutual support at regional and world inter-parliamentary forums such as IPU and ASEP to contribute to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man thanked and suggested that the National Assembly and authorities at all levels of Hungary continue to facilitate the integration and stabilization of the Vietnamese community in Hungary.

After the talks, Hungarian National Assembly Chairman Kover Laszlo and the delegation attended the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly. On the same afternoon, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man solemnly entertained the delegation of the Hungarian National Assembly Chairman.
