The National Assembly Standing Committee has just passed a Resolution approving the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy (SPP) on the working apparatus of the SPP, according to the Government Electronic Information Portal on February 12.
Accordingly, the working apparatus of the Supreme People's Procuracy is rearranged in accordance with legal regulations and the Conclusion of the Politburo, including 24 units, including merging and rearranging a number of Department-level units under the Supreme People's Procuracy, reducing 3 Department-level units, amending the names of a number of units under the Supreme People's Procuracy, ensuring brevity and generality but still maintaining the functions and tasks of a number of units.
According to the submission requesting approval of the working apparatus of the Supreme People's Procuracy, the working apparatus of the Supreme People's Procuracy is as follows:
Firstly, ending operations, merging and rearranging a number of Department-level units under the Supreme People's Procuracy with similar functions and tasks or of small scale.
In which, the Department of Prosecution and Investigation of Economic Cases (Department 3) and the Department of Prosecution and Investigation of Corruption and Position Cases (Department 5) were merged; the name of the unit after the merger was "Department of Prosecution and Investigation of Economic and Corruption Cases";
End the activities of the Emulation and Reward Department, transfer the tasks to the Office of the Supreme People's Procuracy;
Merge Hanoi University of Procuracy (T2) and Ho Chi Minh City Procuracy Training and Development School (T3); the name of the unit after the merger is "University of Procuracy", with a Branch of the University of Procuracy in Ho Chi Minh City on the basis of building a project to restructure the School of Procuracy Training and Development School in Ho Chi Minh City into "Branch of the University of Procuracy in Ho Chi Minh City".
Restructure and rearrange the two units of the Department of Legislation and Science Management and the Procuracy Magazine into two units: the Department of Legislation and the Institute of Procuracy Science.
Second, some Department-level units under the Supreme People's Procuracy have quite long unit names that are not very general. Therefore, the Supreme People's Procuracy proposes to edit the names of some units under the Supreme People's Procuracy to ensure they are concise and general, while still maintaining the functions and tasks of the units and having certain similarities with the Supreme People's Court and the Ministry of Public Security.
The submission of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy to the National Assembly Standing Committee for approval of the working apparatus of the Supreme People's Procuracy ensures the institutionalization of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Party Central Committee on "A number of issues on continuing to innovate, arrange and organize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined, effective and efficient", Conclusion No. 09-KL/BCD dated November 24, 2024 and Official Dispatch No. 21-CV/BCD dated December 5, 2024 of the Central Steering Committee on summarizing the implementation of Resolution 18, while at the same time properly implementing the authority and procedures prescribed in Clause 3, Article 63 of the Law on Organization of the People's Procuracy 2014.
