Continuing his working program in Ca Mau, on the morning of November 17, General Secretary To Lam attended the National Great Unity Day in Mui Hamlet, Dat Mui Commune, Ngoc Hien District, Ca Mau Province.
Also attending were comrades: Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; comrades of the Party Central Committee, leaders of ministries, central departments, branches, the Office of the General Secretary and Ca Mau province.
In recent years, Mui Hamlet, Dat Mui Commune, has had many changes in social life, people's lives have improved both materially and spiritually.
Speaking at the festival, General Secretary To Lam expressed his joy and excitement to attend the National Great Unity Festival with the people of Mui Hamlet, Dat Mui Commune, Ngoc Hien District, Ca Mau Province on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front - the traditional day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The General Secretary requested that the role of ownership and self-management of each citizen be promoted to build united, prosperous and happy residential areas, aiming to maximize the strength of solidarity, creativity and volunteerism of the community, and that each individual in the community must be self-managed to improve material and spiritual life.
The General Secretary requested to organize patriotic emulation movements well, implement well social policies and programs, social security, sustainable poverty reduction for the people, pay special attention to those with meritorious services, vulnerable groups, people in coastal areas, islands, and particularly difficult areas in the province; especially the movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas", the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind", the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas", focusing on helping 8 poor households to escape poverty soon, rise up to be well-off and rich.
The General Secretary requested that leaders at all levels of Ca Mau province pay attention to organizing the National Great Unity Day for residential areas, so that the Day truly becomes a joyful day for the residential community, thereby encouraging and motivating the patriotic spirit in all classes of people, consolidating village and neighborhood sentiment, promoting the strength of the community and having many positive impacts on the political, cultural and social life of each locality, so that each individual, family and community has the responsibility and opportunity to participate in building a prosperous and happy country, a strong and lasting nation in carrying out the cause of innovation, building and defending the Fatherland.
“Each citizen must constantly strive to self-manage to maintain security and order; self-manage together to unite in economic development, support each other in life and in labor and production in the spirit of “Sharing the sweet and the bitter”, “Helping each other in times of need” to improve life; self-manage together to participate in environmental protection; self-manage together to participate in protecting border sovereignty, sea and island sovereignty.
Grassroots cadres must well implement the motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise, people benefit" with the spirit of promoting the exemplary role of cadres and party members; must be close to the people, closely follow the people, regularly grasp the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of the people; overcome the manifestation of being close to the people but not understanding their thoughts and aspirations" - the General Secretary emphasized.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam presented gifts and 20 million VND to the Party Cell and the Front Working Committee of Mui Hamlet; and also presented 109 gifts, each consisting of a gift bag and 2 million VND to policy families, poor and near-poor households in Dat Mui Commune.
Earlier, on the same morning, General Secretary To Lam and the Central Working Delegation offered incense to the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan at the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan Temple (Dat Mui Commune, Ngoc Hien District).
