On April 28, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, Quang Tri province solemnly held an inauguration ceremony and put into use the Le Duan General Secretary Memorial Site, in Trieu Thanh commune, Trieu Phong district.
The project is a key item of the Project "Conservation, restoration and upgrading of key revolutionary historical relics in Quang Tri province", with a total investment of 45 billion VND from the central budget.
The items are built synchronously, including: preserving and renovating the Memorial House - the birth and growth place of the late General Secretary; upgrading the "medical" Exhibition House; building a new Management House - welcoming, garden system, river wharf, lighting, water supply and drainage and auxiliary works.
Attending the program were Mr. Tran Thanh Man - Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly; Mr. Phan Dinh Trac - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The completion of the project on the occasion of the 118th anniversary of the birth of the late General Secretary Le Duan (7.4.1907 - 7.4.2025) expressed deep gratitude to the resilient communist soldier, the great theorist of the Vietnamese revolution. At the same time, this is also an important highlight contributing to traditional education, casting revolutionary ideals for the younger generation today and tomorrow.
At the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Hoang Nam - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province said that with the presence of the National Assembly Chairman, senior leaders of the Party, State, and Front, leaders of central ministries and branches, leaders of neighboring provinces, and distinguished delegates and guests at the inauguration ceremony, today's event became more solemn and meaningful.
The construction investment is a testament to the determination in preserving and promoting the traditional cultural and historical values, making revolutionary heritage into a foundation of political, ethical and ideal education for the younger generation. The Party Committee, authorities and people of Quang Tri province vow to continue learning and promoting the noble values that the late General Secretary Le Duan left, building an increasingly sustainable development of his homeland, worthy of the heroic revolutionary tradition.
