On June 23, in Nam Dien commune (Nghia Hung district, Nam Dinh province), a groundbreaking ceremony for the Nam Dinh Xuan Thien Green Steel Factory Project Complex took place. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long.
The Nam Dinh Green Steel project complex invested by Xuan Thien Group has been approved by the Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee for investment; capacity of 9.5 million tons of steel/year, total investment capital of more than 98,000 billion VND, area of over 400 hectares in Nghia Hung district.
The project uses electricity, natural gas, moving towards using green hydrogen to restore steel, replacing traditional coal-fired steel processing technology with coke to reduce C02 emissions and protect the environment.
The main products are high-quality steel, which has not been produced domestically yet, such as: Weather-resistant steel for the mechanical engineering industry, shipbuilding, wind power pole production, automobile bodies, weapons manufacturing, etc.
According to the schedule, by June 2028, the unit will launch the first steel product and in June 2030, the project complex will be completed.
This is a key project with a large total investment in Nam Dinh province; expected to create a great boost for the socio-economic development of the province; contributing to promoting the development of industry, urban areas and services in Nghia Hung district.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long highly appreciated the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, determination and efforts of Nam Dinh province; welcomed the initiative of enterprises, especially Xuan Thien Group. At the same time, thank you for your cooperation and support for the project.
With the development achievements in recent times and the available potential, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long believes that Nam Dinh will continue to promote the good traditions and achievements, contributing important resources, together with the provinces of Ha Nam and Ninh Binh to become a new Ninh Binh province to create a unified whole that blends geography, history, culture, and people, opening up new development space with many outstanding advantages.
To put the project into effective operation soon, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that authorities at all levels continue to promote their role in creating, supporting, and creating the most favorable conditions for project implementation, ensuring security and order, closely monitoring compliance with the law and environmental protection; continue to pay attention to stabilizing and improving the lives of people in the project area.
Investors, construction units, and supervision consultants must focus maximum resources, intelligence, and technology, especially the application of modern and advanced technology to shorten construction time, put the project into operation soon to promote investment efficiency, create livelihoods, jobs, and income for local workers.
