Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh hopes that the candidates will become dedicated, responsible and intelligent delegates at the 16th National Assembly hall.

On February 12, in Hanoi, the Committee for Delegate Affairs in coordination with the Ethnic Council, the Committee for Culture and Social Affairs organized a training conference for people who are candidates for National Assembly deputies (NA deputies) for the first time.

Speaking at the conference, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh emphasized that in just over 1 month, voters nationwide will enter the great festival of the whole people - the election day of National Assembly Deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term.

This is a major political event of the country, where the people exercise their sacred rights and obligations, and choose worthy representatives to represent voters in deciding important issues of the nation and locality in the new development stage.

National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh said that the quality of activities of the new term depends primarily on the quality of the delegation. Therefore, careful preparation for candidates, especially those who participate in the election for the first time, female candidates and ethnic minorities, is of particular importance.

National Assembly deputies must have firm political bravery, pure ethics, expertise and good parliamentary skills; dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, always put national, ethnic and people's interests first.

Especially maintaining close contact with voters, listening to and truthfully reflecting the will and aspirations of the people in the parliament. The trust and credibility of voters is the highest measure for a deputy.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly clearly stated that our Party and State always pay attention to improving the proportion and quality of representation of women and ethnic minorities in elected bodies.

For full-time National Assembly deputies at the Central level, these are full-time deputies working at the National Assembly's agencies, playing a core role in improving the quality of legislation, supervision and decision-making on important issues of the country.

In the 15th National Assembly term, full-time deputies at the Central level accounted for 22.25%; deputies who are ethnic minorities accounted for 17.84%; female deputies accounted for 30.26%.

Stepping into the 16th term, it is expected that delegates in central agencies will account for 43.4%; delegates who are ethnic minorities ensure at least 18%, and at the same time pay attention to very small ethnic groups that are not yet represented; female delegates ensure at least 35% in the official list of candidates.

Deeply sharing the efforts and concerns of the female candidates, the Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly believes that with bravery and confidence, the candidates will overcome invisible barriers, affirming their abilities and values.

The National Assembly always accompanies and expects candidates to become dedicated, responsible and intelligent delegates in the 16th session of the National Assembly" - Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh said.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh noted that the journey to become a successful candidate elected to become a deputy is a big challenge; candidates for the 16th National Assembly must carry out election campaigns in accordance with the law, ensuring democracy, publicity, and equality.

Each candidate enters the election campaign with the spirit of upholding the rule of law; conquering the trust of voters with talent, enthusiasm, responsibility and moral qualities of a representative of the will and aspirations of the people to be worthy of being trusted by voters to be elected as National Assembly Deputy of the 16th term.
