On September 8, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc chaired a working session with the Vietnam Electronics Enterprises Association and a number of large import-export enterprises in the electronics and semiconductor industry.
According to the Government Authority of Information and Communications, at the working session, the Standing Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate with ministries, branches, localities and Associations to work with enterprises with large differences between import and export turnover, especially large import surplus enterprises; clarify the structure, purpose of imports, and level of service for production and export to have appropriate solutions to promote production and export.
The Standing Deputy Prime Minister noted this to work with businesses to find solutions and not interfere in production and business activities.
The Ministry continues to review and update the list of supporting industrial products, prioritizing the electronics industry; focusing on components and materials with high demand, capable of localization and researching support mechanisms according to chains and products.
Strengthen early warning, support businesses to respond to international trade fluctuations; guide on rules of origin, trade remedies; effectively utilize new generation FTAs; promote trade promotion, diversify export markets and input supply sources.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade presides over the development of a program to connect and develop Vietnamese suppliers for electronics, semiconductor and technology corporations at home and abroad according to each product chain, technical standards and business needs.

The Ministry of Finance reviews and handles within its authority proposals on tax incentives for the production of electronic components, materials and supporting industries; tax policies for machinery, equipment, and imported raw materials serving investment and expansion of electronic and semiconductor production.
Strengthen inspection and supervision of customs value for imported components and raw materials serving the production, processing, and assembly of electronics and telephones; promptly detect and strictly handle trade fraud, transfer pricing and violations.
The State Bank of Vietnam researches and proposes appropriate credit policies for electronic supporting industry enterprises, enterprises investing in technology innovation, automation, and digital transformation; creating conditions for small and medium-sized enterprises to participate in the electronic and semiconductor supply chain to access capital.
VCCI proactively grasps, summarizes, and classifies difficulties and obstacles of businesses; clearly proposes issues, handling agencies and solutions, including general recommendations and specific recommendations of each business so that functional agencies have a basis to handle them closely to reality.
Electronics and semiconductor enterprises, especially enterprises with large export turnover, determine to increase added value, develop domestic supplier systems, and gradually reduce dependence on imports as a strategic responsibility.
