According to the Department of Science and Technology of Bac Ninh province, so far the locality has attracted about 33 semiconductor projects, semiconductor materials and production of equipment and auxiliary components for the semiconductor industry, with a total registered capital of more than 2.742 billion USD. Among them, there are 6 projects in the field of semiconductor, semiconductor materials and 27 projects producing equipment and auxiliary components for the semiconductor industry.
Some typical projects with large capital scale include: Amkor Technology with a total investment of 1.6 billion USD; Hana Micron Vina 669 million USD; Micro Commercial Components 115 million USD; Hana Micron Vietnam 37.46 million USD; Synergie Cad Vietnam Co., Ltd. 21.21 million USD and FPT Testing and Packaging Technology Project with an investment of 50 billion VND...
The results of attracting semiconductor projects are supported by the province's strongly developed electronics industry platform. Currently, Bac Ninh province has 1,282 businesses operating in the electronics sector, employing 481,948 workers.
Along with that, the industrial park system continues to be invested and completed, meeting the requirements of attracting high-tech and semiconductor projects.
Among the 39 industrial parks that have been approved for investment policy and investor approval, 23 industrial parks have been put into operation. The infrastructure of industrial parks is invested synchronously in terms of transportation, electricity supply, water supply, drainage, and infrastructure connection inside and outside the industrial park.
To create a favorable environment for semiconductor enterprises, the province promotes investment promotion, supports enterprises to participate more deeply in the value chain; strengthens training, research and technology transfer links; proposes a space for semiconductor industry development in industrial parks and promotes strategic corporations and enterprises to expand investment in the area.
Bac Ninh also implements the "24 Hour Green Channel" and "60% Green Channel" mechanisms to shorten the time to resolve administrative procedures for key projects, high technology and semiconductor.
In the coming time, Bac Ninh province determines to continue to attract strategic corporations and businesses to invest in stages with high added value; support businesses to participate more deeply in the semiconductor value chain; and at the same time promote training and development of high-quality human resources; linking the State, businesses with educational and research institutions.
Through this, the province gradually improves the capacity of the semiconductor enterprise ecosystem, attracts more high-tech projects, expands supply chains, and develops the local economy.
