On February 11, General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense - chaired a conference of leaders of the Ministry of National Defense working with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA).
Attending the meeting were Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
Concluding the working session, on behalf of the Central Military Commission Standing Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang acknowledged and commended the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army for comprehensively completing its tasks in 2024, of which many tasks were completed well and some tasks were completed excellently.
General Phan Van Giang requested that in 2025, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army continue to do a good job of researching, forecasting, advising, and proposing to the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Military Commission to effectively lead and direct the implementation of policies and solutions to build a politically strong Army; and maintain the Party's ideological position in the Army.
Minister Phan Van Giang noted that the General Department of Politics should strengthen leadership and direction to do well in ideological, organizational and policy work in adjusting the organization of the Army to be lean, compact and strong.
Strengthen leadership, direction, monitoring, inspection and do a good job of grasping and managing the ideology and rear work of the Army; promptly direct and resolve regimes and policies so that cadres, officers, professional soldiers and soldiers in the entire army can work with peace of mind, be highly combat-ready, and be ready to receive and complete well all assigned tasks.
General Phan Van Giang noted that, promoting the achieved results, in 2025, the General Department of Politics will focus on advising, directing, and coordinating the organization of commemorative activities, important events, and major holidays of the country.
Direct the preparation and organization of the 11th Military Emulation Congress for Victory. Improve the quality of press, television, cultural and artistic activities... to meet the cultural and spiritual needs of soldiers and people.
Strengthen leadership, direction, guidance, monitoring and inspection so that Party committees and Party organizations at all levels in the Army Party Committee do a good job of preparing and successfully organizing Party congresses at all levels and the 12th Army Party Congress in a truly exemplary and representative manner.
Timely advise the Central Military Commission and the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense on appropriate policies and strategies to effectively implement the Project "Policy to attract and promote talents for the Vietnam People's Army until 2030, with a vision to 2050".
On behalf of the leadership of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet said that the General Department of Politics has concretized the work plan, identified 134 tasks and has issued directives on Party and political work to agencies and units throughout the army for implementation.
The General Department of Politics fully absorbs the conclusions of the Minister of National Defense and the opinions of the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and the leaders of the general departments; concretizes them into the work plan; closely coordinates with the central and local departments, ministries, branches, and sectors to successfully carry out the tasks of 2025 and the entire term.
