On the morning of August 19, together with the whole country, An Giang province solemnly held an inauguration ceremony for two large-scale projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), including: inauguration of An Giang Provincial Theater, Project to build a regional connecting road, from Tan Chau town to Chau Doc city, connecting with Kien Giang province, Dong Thap.
Mr. Ho Van Mung - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province - and 350 delegates who are leaders, former leaders of the province, departments and people of Long Xuyen ward attended.
This is a practical and meaningful act to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2, affirming An Giang's position as a dynamic development center of the Southwest region, while creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere, contributing to raising the appearance of An Giang province after the merger.
The An Giang Provincial Theater project is located in the Hau River West Area, Long Xuyen Ward, An Giang Province on an area of 1.6 hectares of land, with a total construction capital of more than 215 billion VND. The 4-storey theater has a capacity of 1,000 seats and professional rooms, teaching and practice. The total construction floor area is 10,385m2 (1 basement, 1 ground floor, 2 upper floors, roof); electricity supply and water supply systems; fire prevention and fighting systems; lightning protection systems...
Implementation period 2019-2025. Technical infrastructure works outside the theater, including: Security house, fence, gate, outdoor stage, grandstand, outdoor hall, landscape lake and trees... The project is of great significance because An Giang had not previously had a large-scale theater.
Therefore, when the theater is put into operation, the project will become a cultural and artistic center, meeting the needs of creativity - enjoying culture, improving the spiritual life of the people.
An Giang Provincial Theater is not only a modern cultural address, a key cultural institution of the province, a place for entertainment... especially a place to promote and preserve the traditional values of the Vietnamese people... and is an exhibition center and organizer of important conferences and events of the province.
This is also the bridge point of An Giang province connecting with 80 bridges nationwide in this important event.
On this occasion, An Giang province also inaugurated the project to build a regional connecting road, from Tan Chau town to Chau Doc city, connecting with Kien Giang and Dong Thap provinces. The project has a total investment of more than VND 2,131 billion, construction period 2021-2025. The project consists of 2 parts: road and bridge. Of which, the traffic route has a total length of 20.96km, a level III plain road.

The bridge section has 3 works built with permanent reinforced concrete, including: Than Nong Bridge (33.34m long; 1 girder span I 24.54m; cross-section 9m); Muong Tri Bridge (33.44m long; 1 girder span I 24.54m; cross-section 12m; Chau Doc Bridge (667m long; 13 spans; main bridge with a 70+120+70m balanced box girder; cross-section 14m). The project connects through National Highway N1, expanding trade with Dong Thap, Tay Ninh, and the southwestern border area, serving economic, social development, national security and defense.
