Attending the meeting to wish retired senior police officers a Happy New Year 2025 and prepare to welcome the Lunar New Year of At Ty in Ho Chi Minh City, General Secretary To Lam sent to veteran police officers, former leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, wives of late leaders of the Ministry, late leaders of the Central Security Department of the Southern Department; retired senior police officers of all periods his respectful greetings, warm greetings, sincere greetings and best wishes.
Highlighting some of the country's outstanding achievements in 2024, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that in the country's overall achievements, the People's Public Security force, former leaders of the Party and State, veteran Public Security officers, former leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, and retired senior Public Security officers of different periods have made important and proud contributions.
The General Secretary noted that 2025 is a year of special significance, the final year of the term in which the entire Party, people and army will strive to soon complete the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; the year of holding Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress; practically celebrating the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding, the 80th anniversary of National Day, the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security and many other important political events.
Our country has entered a new era, an era of national growth, an era of development and prosperity, under the leadership of the Party, successfully building a socialist Vietnam, a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness, civilization, on par with the world powers.
To achieve this goal, bringing the country firmly into an era of prosperity, development and happiness, General Secretary To Lam hopes that the People's Public Security force must continue to be exemplary in implementing the Party's policies, and that former leaders and officers of the People's Public Security force through the periods continue to demonstrate their role and be shining examples in their places of residence, together with the entire Party, people and army, constantly strengthen solidarity and unity, join hands and hearts, make the most of opportunities and advantages, and promote all resources to build, develop and protect the Fatherland.
Paying tribute to the contributions of former Party and State leaders
On the occasion of the New Year 2025 and preparation for the Spring of At Ty, during his working program in Ho Chi Minh City, General Secretary To Lam visited and burned incense to commemorate: General Secretary Le Duan; General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh; Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung; Prime Minister Phan Van Khai; General Mai Chi Tho, former member of the Politburo, former Minister of Home Affairs (now the Ministry of Public Security), former Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City at his private residence.
General Secretary To Lam expressed his respect and gratitude for the great contributions of comrades to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, helping our country overcome difficult and arduous periods, carry out the renovation and integration process and develop step by step. These are typical examples for cadres, party members, and current and future generations to learn from and follow.
General Secretary To Lam also visited and wished a happy new year to the families of former Politburo member and former President Truong Tan Sang; former Politburo member and former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; and former Politburo member and former Standing member of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh at their private homes.
General Secretary To Lam sent his regards, best wishes for health and a happy new year to comrades and their families; at the same time expressed his hope that comrades would continue to make valuable contributions to the country's development.
