Mexico becomes Vietnam's leading trading partner in Latin America

Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received a high-level delegation of the Mexican Labor Party visiting and working in Vietnam.

On the afternoon of August 17, at the National Assembly House, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received the high-level delegation of the Mexican Labor Party (PT) led by Senator Alberto Anaya Gutierrez, General Secretary of the Mexican Labor Party, who is visiting and working in Vietnam.

Speaking at the reception, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man welcomed and highly appreciated the significance of this visit to Vietnam by the high-level delegation of the PT Party in the context of the traditional friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Mexico and between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Mexican Labor Party developing strongly and substantively; expressed respect and gratitude for the effective support and cooperation that the Mexican Labor Party and General Secretary Alberto Anaya Gutierrez personally have given to the Party, State and People of Vietnam over the years.

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man briefly informed about the socio-economic development situation of Vietnam and the national development goals set out by the 14th National Party Congress, the results of the 16th National Assembly election and the People's Councils at all levels recently; affirming the important role of the National Assembly of Vietnam in promoting institutional reform, perfecting the legal system, creating a synchronous legal framework, serving the requirements of national development in the new development era.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated Vietnam-Mexico cooperation on Party and State channels and people-to-people exchanges, expressed his pleasure at the positive developments in cooperative relations between the two countries, especially in the fields of economy, trade and investment, making Mexico Vietnam's leading trading partner in Latin America; affirmed that Vietnam always values Mexico's role and position in Latin America; wishes to strongly and substantively develop traditional friendly relations, comprehensive cooperation with Mexico for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and in the world.

Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated the role of the PT Party in Mexico's political arena, welcomed the launch and activities of the Mexico - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group led by PT Party members; emphasized that strengthening relations between the two Friendship Parliamentary Groups as well as between the Committees of the National Assemblies of the two countries will strengthen the connection between the two legislative bodies, contributing to promoting the development of relations between the two countries to a new height.

On behalf of the high-level delegation of the PT Party, General Secretary Alberto Anaya Gutierrez respectfully thanked Comrade Tran Thanh Man for taking the time to receive the delegation; expressed admiration and deep respect for the great and comprehensive achievements that Vietnam has achieved under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the Doi Moi (Renovation) cause as well as in the struggle to liberate the South and unify the country.

General Secretary Alberto Anaya Gutierrez expressed his firm belief that the Vietnamese people will achieve strategic goals in the new development era; affirmed that the Mexican Labor Party and the General Secretary personally always value consolidating and further expanding the traditional friendly and cooperative relationship between the two Parties, the two National Assemblies and the people of Vietnam and Mexico in the coming time.

Regarding the relationship between the legislative bodies of the two countries, Chairman Tran Thanh Man and General Secretary Alberto Anaya Gutierrez agreed to strengthen coordination, promote delegation exchanges between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Senate and House of Representatives of Mexico, exchange legislative experiences and activities between the Committees and legislative bodies of the two countries; promote the role of the Friendship Parliamentary Group of the two countries.

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man respectfully requested General Secretary Alberto Anaya Gutierrez to help convey the invitation to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Mexico to visit Vietnam soon.
