Malaysia always supports and accompanies Vietnam to achieve common benefits, especially in legal and judicial cooperation between the two countries.

On July 7, at the National Assembly House, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Mr. Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar, Attorney General of Malaysia who is visiting and working in Vietnam.

According to VNA, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man welcomed Attorney General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar and the working delegation of the Malaysian Attorney General's Office to visit Vietnam and work with the Supreme People's Procuracy (KSNDTC) of Vietnam in the context that the Vietnam - Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is developing very well, increasingly close, reliable, and effective.

Affirming the consistent policy of valuing and wishing to effectively implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Malaysia, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated clearly that the political relationship between the two countries is very reliable and close through the regular maintenance of visits and high-level and all-level contacts on the Party, State, Government, and National Assembly channels. Bilateral cooperation mechanisms are effectively promoted, and people-to-people exchanges are increasingly strengthened. Economic cooperation is a bright spot in the cooperation between the two countries. Trade turnover between the two countries has grown strongly in recent times.

The National Assembly Chairwoman said that Vietnam is promoting the construction and improvement of institutions, improving the effectiveness of law enforcement and judicial reform. In this process, judicial agencies, including the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam, play an important role in ensuring the rule of law, protecting the interests of the State, public interests and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals.

Appreciating the increasingly close cooperation between the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam and the Malaysian Attorney General's Office in sharing professional experiences, protecting justice and citizens' rights, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that this coordination has contributed to improving the effectiveness of crime prevention, ensuring security and promoting socio-economic development of each country.

The National Assembly Chairwoman wished the Malaysian Attorney General's Office to support the adoption of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Action Program (2026-2030), promote Halal industrial cooperation and the Legal Cooperation Program (2027-2028).

Attorney General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar affirmed that Malaysia always cherishes the long-standing friendship between the two countries. Being members of ASEAN, the two countries share a strong link in strengthening mutual trust as well as a common aspiration for peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

According to Attorney General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar, in Malaysia, the Attorney General's Office always maintains close cooperative relations with the parliamentary body, especially in relation to law-making, legal advice and ensuring laws are in accordance with the Constitution.

Highly appreciating the important role of the Vietnamese National Assembly in promoting public governance and strengthening the foundation of rule of law, Attorney General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar affirmed that Malaysia always supports and accompanies Vietnam to achieve common benefits, especially in legal and judicial cooperation between the two countries; believing that the visit will contribute to promoting mutual understanding and strengthening cooperation between the two countries and peoples of the two countries.
