On the morning of September 28, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired an online conference to review, evaluate and draw lessons from the work of preventing and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3.
In his opening speech, the Prime Minister said that in the spirit of working all day on Saturday for people affected by storms, floods and natural disasters, the Government held a conference to review, evaluate and draw lessons from the work of preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3.
On that basis, the Government will unify key tasks and solutions to urgently overcome the consequences, quickly stabilize the people's situation, restore production and business, and promote growth.
The Prime Minister stated that storm No. 3 (Yagi) and the floods following the storm have caused huge losses in human lives and property, affecting people’s health, lives and spirits. Many missing people have yet to be found.
The mental trauma of a segment of the population is very severe. Many families still have to live in temporary accommodation, and many villages will take a long time to return to normal.
Following the direction of the Prime Minister, the Army is actively building a pontoon bridge in the area where Phong Chau bridge (Phu Tho) collapsed.
Many government policies are being actively implemented to support people and businesses. Businesses and people affected by natural disasters have strongly promoted the spirit of self-reliance, self-reliance, and not waiting or relying on others.
With the spirit of promptness, timeliness and efficiency, the Government and the Prime Minister have organized many conferences and meetings, issued many telegrams; Government leaders have directly inspected localities; most recently, the conference was held on September 15.
Immediately after the conference, on September 17, 2024, the Government issued Resolution No. 143-NQ/CP on key tasks and solutions to urgently overcome the consequences of storm No. 3, quickly stabilize the situation, support people, restore production and business, actively promote economic growth, control inflation well, and ensure major balances of the economy.
Most recently, on September 27, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 100/CD-TTg dated September 27, 2024 requesting ministries, branches and localities to focus on directing and implementing measures to quickly restore agricultural production after storm No. 3 and floods.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated the coordination between forces, ministries and branches, the mobilization of the strength of people and businesses, and the spirit of great solidarity that was clearly demonstrated and strongly promoted.
The Head of Government noted that the conference has little time, much work, high requirements, requiring immediate effectiveness after the conference, with the spirit of "all for the people, all for the development of the country", overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3.
At the same time, propose tasks, solutions, and comments on appropriate directive documents to organize drastic and effective implementation in the coming time. Aiming at the set goal of quickly stabilizing the situation, supporting people, promoting production and business recovery, actively promoting economic growth, controlling inflation well, contributing to the implementation of goals and tasks of 2024.
