Speaking at the plenary session on Party and People's Foreign Affairs within the framework of the 33rd Diplomatic Conference, Politburo Member, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu requested to carefully study, thoroughly and seriously grasp and drastically implement the orientations, tasks and solutions that General Secretary and President To Lam directed at the opening session of the 33rd Diplomatic Conference, focusing on strategic issues.
Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu further emphasized a number of issues in diplomatic work.
Accordingly, it is necessary to continue to create strong changes in thinking and awareness of Party foreign affairs and People's foreign affairs, with the goals aimed at rapid and sustainable development of the country. Proactively promote connections, especially in priority areas today such as training high-quality human resources, innovation, digital transformation, rapid and sustainable development and response to transcontinental security challenges.
Party building and improving national governance capacity must strongly shift from the main thinking of expanding relations to improving the quality and efficiency of added value of relations. Specific results must be used to measure work efficiency.
Second, continue to raise awareness, the position and role of Party foreign affairs, People's foreign affairs and the importance of the requirement for coordination and synchronous and smooth deployment of foreign affairs pillars.
The Standing Committee of the Secretariat emphasized that each pillar has its own role or mission, targeting different subjects, applying many forms, deploying many fields and localities, but all are aimed at a common goal of promoting comprehensive strength, effectively implementing the country's foreign affairs goals, ensuring comprehensive leadership of the Party, unified management of the State and close and timely coordination of central and local departments and ministries in deploying Party and People's Foreign Affairs tasks, thoroughly grasping and seriously and fully implementing the goals, tasks, and solutions of Party and People's Foreign Affairs work in the new period, which must be associated with the responsibility of the head.
Third, constantly improve the level of Party foreign affairs work, focus on consolidating and deepening relations with political parties, especially ruling parties of neighboring countries, parties with roles and positions in major countries, countries where we have established relationship frameworks, expanding the space of Party relations, creating political consensus in the political arena of countries in relations with Vietnam. Organize the good implementation and further promote the strategic orientation role of high-level foreign affairs activities of Party leaders, leaders of Party committees and agencies, of city and provincial Party committees.
Fourth, improve the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy, promote thinking from friendly exchanges and mobilization to linking interests, creating a sustainable cooperation space, and promoting the overall strength of the entire political system and the entire people in organizing and implementing people-to-people diplomacy activities.
Fifth, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu requested to continue building the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be truly clean and strong, attaching importance to building a contingent of foreign affairs officials with sufficient qualities, capacity, prestige, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new period, promptly training and fostering to form a team of diplomatic experts with firm political stance, taking national and ethnic interests as the guiding principle for action. Understanding key areas and new fields, having mechanisms to attract and use talents inside and outside the industry and needing to do well from the selection, training, evaluation to arrangement and use and must take qualities, capacity and recognition results as a measure.
