It is expected that Prime Minister Le Minh Hung will speak at the plenary session of Diplomacy serving national development in the new period "Breakthrough thinking - Decisive action - Substantive results".
The plenary session is one of the important events within the framework of the 33rd Diplomatic Conference. The conference with the theme "Promoting the pioneering role and performing the key and regular tasks of Vietnam's foreign affairs in the new era" takes place from August 1 to 7 with 18 sessions.

The 33rd Diplomatic Conference takes place at a time of great significance after the 14th Party Congress, the 16th National Assembly election and the People's Councils at all levels were successfully organized.
This is the first conference to take place in the context that the country is actively and comprehensively implementing the completion of the political system, innovating the development model, promoting science and technology, innovation, digital transformation..., including consolidating the foreign affairs apparatus.

Since the 32nd Diplomatic Conference, foreign affairs work has continued to achieve many important results, some of which are of historical significance. Foreign affairs have contributed to concretizing and institutionalizing the Party's guidelines, advising on handling new and complex issues; promoting methods and ways; bilateral and multilateral diplomacy has been deployed synchronously; diplomacy serving development, multilateral diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, foreign information diplomacy, work on Vietnamese people abroad, consular affairs and citizen protection have made many practical contributions. The arrangement of foreign forces has made an important step, especially the establishment of the Central Steering Committee for Foreign Affairs and International Integration.
The 33rd Diplomatic Conference focused on exchanging 5 major groups of tasks: strengthening awareness and unified action in the system of foreign affairs agencies; innovating research, forecasting and strategic advice; improving the effectiveness of implementing foreign affairs tasks; promoting Party building, industry building and grasping the directions of Party and State leaders in deploying work.
