The Secretary of the Russian Security Council affirmed that Russia is ready to support Vietnam in ensuring energy security in the current volatile world situation.

Within the framework of his official visit to the Russian Federation, on March 24, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-level Vietnamese delegation met with Secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council Sergei Shoigu.

Secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council Sergei Shoigu assessed that in the past time, the Vietnam - Russian Federation Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has developed positively in many fields under the close direction and active support of General Secretary To Lam and President Vladimir Putin.

The Secretary of the Security Council also highly appreciated the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ambassadors of the two countries in creating a bridge, actively promoting cooperation, and making important contributions to the positive development of bilateral relations.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the important contributions of the Russian Security Council and Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu in ensuring firm political stability, national security and socio-economic development.

The Prime Minister affirmed that this visit is of utmost importance in repositioning and elevating comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, promoting the socio-economic development of each country in the new situation, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and in the world.

The Secretary of the Russian Security Council said that the Russian side will make efforts together with ministries and sectors of Vietnam to effectively implement the agreements reached within the framework of visits and meetings of senior leaders of the two countries in the past time; and affirmed that Russia is ready to support Vietnam in ensuring energy security in the current volatile world situation.

Mr. Sergei Shoigu affirmed that Russia always wishes to further develop the areas of cooperation that the two sides have had a foundation for, and continue to expand to new areas, suitable to the conditions of the two sides to serve socio-economic development, raising bilateral relations to a new height.

In a high atmosphere of political trust, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council Sergei Shoigu together reviewed the highlights in bilateral cooperation in the past time; together acknowledged the achieved results, exchanged and proposed many measures to remove existing difficulties, promote cooperation in the fields of defense - security, economy - trade - investment, energy - oil and gas, transportation, humanities, people-to-people exchanges, tourism...

The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of military technology, high-quality human resource training, and promote the role of the Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center to further promote cooperation in the field of science and technology.

The two leaders affirmed that the two sides still have much potential and room to exploit and enhance cooperation in all fields; agreed to support the functional agencies of the two countries to strengthen information exchange, cooperation in preventing traditional and non-traditional security risks, contributing to promoting peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and in the world, in accordance with the United Nations Charter and international law.
