On the morning of May 7, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee held a regular meeting for April 2025, chaired by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh. At the meeting, many important contents were discussed, especially the preparation for the transformation of the two-level local government model.
Up to now, the province has completed the construction and sent a project to arrange the administrative unit at the commune level to the Ministry of Home Affairs before 1.5, and at the same time implement the process of adjusting the names of new administrative units. With a public and transparent way, the project receives high consensus from the grassroots level.
Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh requested localities, departments and branches to urgently prepare the necessary conditions to end district-level activities and operate commune-level governments from July 1, 2025. The conversion must ensure smooth management, without interruption in the provision of administrative services and public services to people, organizations and businesses.
Along with arranging the apparatus and assigning cadres, the province will immediately organize training for commune-level cadres. The sectors are also assigned to proactively review and advise on adjusting regulatory documents to suit the new model, no longer at the district level.
Regarding economic development, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested to closely follow the growth scenario, take advantage of the room in agriculture, industry and services to compensate for shortage. The 2025 growth target is 10.5%. At the same time, accelerating the progress of large projects, especially the works have been concluded by the Provincial Standing Committee in Notice No. 1789-TB/TU.
In the field of culture and society, the Provincial People's Committee assigned sectors to prepare well for the exam, teach 2 sessions/day in disadvantaged areas, and build a system of inter-level schools for border areas. At the same time, solemnly organize the Sen Village Festival and inaugurate the Monument "Uncle Ho returns to visit his hometown".
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also emphasized administrative procedure reform, improving the investment environment, closely following the situation at the grassroots level, preventing hot spots; requesting localities and units to actively provide timely information to the press.
