On August 15, the Party Committee of Ba Ria Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, held the 1st Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term. The congress was attended by Mr. Dang Minh Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; and delegates representing 2,718 party members in the whole ward.
Ba Ria ward was established on the basis of merging four wards: Phuoc Trung, Phuoc Nguyen, Phuoc Hung and Long Toan. Ba Ria ward has an area of 15.6 km2, a population of more than 56,000 people, including 21 neighborhoods, 57 Party organizations with 2,718 Party members.
Based on the merger of the entire administrative boundaries of the previous 4 wards of Phuoc Trung, Phuoc Nguyen, Phuoc Hung and Long Toan, in the period of 2020-2025, Ba Ria ward has maintained a fairly good economic growth rate, the economic structure has shifted in accordance with the urbanization process. Digital transformation and administrative reform have achieved many outstanding results, improving the efficiency of State management and the quality of service to the people.

In particular, 38 specific targets were set in many areas such as: growth of 10% or more; budget revenue exceeding the estimate by 110%; along with 3 breakthroughs including: building a team of experienced cadres and civil servants, effectively applying science and technology; promoting online public services throughout the process; mobilizing resources to develop civilized and modern urban areas, forming high-quality commercial and service streets.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Dang Minh Thong highly appreciated the Congress for setting many targets exceeding the city's average and developing an implementation plan, demonstrating a spirit of determination worthy of the potential, advantages and expectations of the people.
At the same time, it suggested a number of key tasks; focused on effectively implementing major policies of the Central Government and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; especially on developing science and technology, innovation and private economy.
"Ba Ria needs to review and adjust the planning in accordance with the provincial planning and new orientations, to ensure harmonious and sustainable development. At the same time, improve land management, planning, construction order; effectively exploit land funds, public assets...", Mr. Thong suggested.
The Congress also launched the Party Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Ward Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term. In which, Mr. Tran Tuan Linh (formerly Secretary of the Ba Ria City Party Committee) was appointed as Secretary of the Ba Ria Ward Party Committee, term 2025-2030.
