On July 30, the People's Council of Vinh Long province, term X, Second Session, passed a Resolution on socio-economic development tasks of Vinh Long province in 2025.
One of the outstanding indicators is to strive to achieve an average GRDP per capita of 84.3 million VND/person/year, equivalent to 3,590 USD (with a conversion price of 23,500 VND/USD). The Resolution also sets out many other important goals and solutions to promote the comprehensive development of the province.
According to the Resolution, the province sets a general goal of operating the 2-level local government apparatus smoothly, stably and effectively. Determined to successfully implement the goals of the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025 and Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021 - 2025. GRDP growth is targeted at 8.0% or more compared to 2024.
In the economic field, some other notable indicators include: Growth in the following areas: agriculture - forestry - fishery increased by 3.27%, industry - construction increased by 13.19%, services increased by 8.78%, product taxes minus product subsidies increased by 7.07%.
Total social investment capital reached VND 70,720 billion. The total import-export turnover is about 5.66 billion USD. Newly develop 1,630 enterprises. Domestic revenue reached VND19,714 billion and revenue from import-export activities reached VND1,679 billion.
Regarding social indicators, the province strives: To have 03 more communes meeting new rural standards and 01 - 02 new rural communes meeting advanced rural standards. The rate of trained workers reached 72.76%. Creating jobs for 63,000 workers. The unemployment rate in urban areas is below 3.5%. The health insurance coverage rate reached 95.5%. Reduce the poverty rate according to the multidimensional poverty standard by 0.5%.
The Resolution also sets out environmental indicators such as the rate of urban households using clean water, hygienic water reaching 99.5% and the forest coverage rate reaching 2.3% of the natural area. Regarding national defense and security, the province aims to maintain political stability and social order and safety.
To achieve these goals, the Resolution sets out 8 key groups of tasks and solutions, including promoting growth drivers, restructuring sectors, improving the investment and business environment, building a synchronous infrastructure, improving the efficiency of resource management, ensuring harmony between economic and cultural development - society, promoting administrative reform, and strengthening national defense and security.
This Resolution abolishes a number of previous resolutions on the socio-economic development plan of Vinh Long, Tra Vinh and Ben Tre in 2025.
