According to VNA, after a period of illness, despite being wholeheartedly treated by the Party, the State, and the collective of professors and doctors and taking good care of his family, due to old age and poor health, former Vice Chairman of the Council of Minister Tran Phuong passed away at 6:02 a.m. on October 18, 2025 at the 108 Central Military Hospital.

Comrade Tran Phuong (real name Vu Van Dung), born on November 1, 1927, in Xuan Duc commune, My Van district, Hung Yen province (now Duong Hao commune, Hung Yen province).

He is an alternate member of the Party Central Committee, term IV, member of the Party Central Committee, term V; former Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers (now Deputy Prime Minister); Minister of Home Affairs and Trade (now Ministry of Industry and Trade); Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Committee (now Ministry of Finance).

The visitation ceremony, memorial service ceremony, and burial ceremony for former Vice Chairman of the Council of Minister Tran Phuong will be announced later.
