Determined to achieve the two 100-year goals of 2030 and 2045
On November 13, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam chaired a working session with the Socio-Economic Subcommittee to present to the 14th National Party Congress. Attending the meeting were Politburo members: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - Head of the Socio-Economic Subcommittee to present to the 14th National Party Congress; Party Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh. Also attending were Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Office Nguyen Duy Ngoc; leaders of central departments, ministries, branches and members of the Subcommittee. The meeting aimed to listen to opinions and complete the draft socio-economic report, one of the documents to be presented to the 14th National Party Congress, which will be commented on by the Politburo at the end of this month. This is one of the important reports that needs to be completed for early promulgation to serve the upcoming grassroots Party Congress.
General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the Socio-Economic Subcommittee for actively developing the report, completing it after 12 revisions, and now having many new contents compared to the original, basically qualified to submit to the Politburo for comments. At the same time, he requested that the report continue to clarify the deep understanding of the vision of the new era from the 14th Congress, associated with the determination to achieve the two 100-year goals of 2030 and 2045.
Fast but sustainable development
General Secretary To Lam requested that the report must demonstrate the solidarity of the entire political system, all for the common goal, and arouse the spirit of nation building among Party members and the people. Assessing the growth scenario was a positive discussion, the General Secretary noted that rapid but sustainable development must be associated with cultural development, environmental protection, and ensuring national defense and security.
General Secretary To Lam emphasized the need to carry out tasks in the spirit of innovation, including stronger institutional breakthroughs, resolutely combating the fear of making mistakes, pushing and avoiding, promoting all resources, taking advantage of every opportunity for development, and enhancing digital transformation.
Previously, at the 8th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee, the Central Committee discussed and unanimously decided to establish 5 sub-committees to prepare for the 14th Party Congress. Of which, the Socio-Economic Sub-Committee is headed by Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
Before this meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - Head of the 14th Party Congress's Socio-Economic Subcommittee and the Government Standing Committee had meetings with the Socio-Economic Subcommittee to give opinions on many related contents.
During the working process, the Editorial Team of the Document Subcommittee and the Socio-Economic Subcommittee regularly exchanged to ensure consistency and updates between the two reports.The Subcommittee organized working delegations to survey and work with 4 regions: Northern Midlands and Mountains, Red River Delta, North Central and Central Coast, and Central Highlands.
