On October 25, continuing the 10th Session, the National Assembly held a separate meeting on personnel work under the direction of Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
At the meeting, the National Assembly listened to a report summarizing the opinions of National Assembly deputies discussing at the Delegation on the election of members of the National Assembly Standing Committee and Chairman of the Delegation Affairs Committee of the 15th National Assembly.
The National Assembly voted to approve the list to elect Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong as a member of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly with 444/445 delegates in favor.
The National Assembly voted to approve the list to elect Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong as Chairman of the Delegation Affairs Committee of the 15th National Assembly with 442/442 delegates in favor.
The National Assembly then voted to pass the Resolution of the National Assembly to elect Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong as a member of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly by electronic vote with 442/442 delegates in favor.
With 434/434 delegates in favor, the National Assembly voted to approve the Resolution of the National Assembly to elect Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong as Chairman of the Delegation Affairs Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong, born in 1972, from Phu Tho province, has a Master's degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Law. He was a member of the Party Central Committee of the 2nd tenure (2nd - alternate, 13th tenure); a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.
Graduated from the position of prosecutor of Viet Tri City, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong has worked in the People's Procuracy of Phu Tho province for nearly 9 years.
During his working career, he has held many positions in Phu Tho province such as: Permanent Deputy Head of the Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Deputy Head of the Legal Committee of the Phu Tho Provincial People's Council; Chairman of the Yen Lap District People's Committee; Head of the Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee.
In October 2015, he became Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, then Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee. In March 2016, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong was transferred to Son La and held the position of Deputy Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee. After that, the Politburo issued a decision approving him to hold the position of Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee.
At the 15th Son La Provincial Party Congress in September 2020, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong was elected to hold the position of Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee.
In June 2024, he was transferred and appointed by the Politburo as Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission.
From September 2025, he will hold the position of Permanent Deputy Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee of the 15th National Assembly.
