Hope to have a solid house to settle down
On August 25, when storm No. 5 was gradually moving inland, Dien Chau commune (Nghe An) became one of the hot spots that had to be urgently evacuated. More than 700 households, with 2,000 people, have been mobilized to leave their unsafe homes to temporarily take shelter at Dien Bich Primary School. Amidst the anxiety, each fate, each roof is a separate story filled with passion.
Ms. Dau Thi Thuy (Hai Bac hamlet) and her family soon followed the government's encouragement to move to the primary school. "We came here early to feel secure, but we left the house to God. I just hope the storm passes quickly, she choked up.

In another corner, Ms. Do Thi Hai (60 years old, Bac Chien Thang hamlet) could not hold back her tears. Her husband died early, raising her illegally disabled son alone, the lives of the mother and daughter were already struggling in an old, dilapidated house. "Every time it rains heavily and the house is flooded, I have to stay at a neighbor's house. I just hope to have a solid roof to work with peace of mind and raise my children, she said, her shoulders shaking.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nuoi (65 years old, Hai Bac hamlet) was also present early at the evacuation point. The skinny man, his skin is used to the sea and the sun, and when he was not warm, he stood still because his wife had not come. The story of the fisherman is a slice showing the constant confusion of those who stick to the sea, struggling to build a solid house all their lives.
In the next room, Mrs. Dau Thi Minh (60 years old, Quyet Thanh hamlet) struggles to take care of her 85-year-old mother-in-law who is bedridden. In the midst of the pouring rain, the mother and child were taken by militia with a three-wheeled vehicle to safety. hugging her mother tightly, Mrs. Minh choked up: "This storm is big, if it does not go, it will be a danger to both mother and child. Thanks to the cadres, my mother and I can rest assured.

At the same time, Ms. Hoang Thi Xoan (Nam Chien Thang hamlet) brought her newborn baby less than a month ago. With her hands full and carrying, she followed the police and militia to the storm shelter. Hearing the forecast of a big storm, I was very worried. My child is still young, I just hope he is safe. "We don't know what happened to the house and the boat" - she shared, her eyes red.
Local officials struggle to fight the storm

While women, children and the elderly were taken to storm shelters, men in the villages were still struggling to house and secure their belongings. Local officials are busy taking care of the stages to ensure the safety of the people.
Mr. Ha Xuan Quang - Secretary of the Dien Chau Commune Party Committee - said: "All commune cadres are on duty at 100% of the army. Before 8:00 a.m. on August 25, all people in the danger zone were forced to evacuate. If any household hesitates, the commune will enforce it to ensure the safety of their lives".
Before that, cadres, militia, police... diligently took each step, went to each house, and patiently persuaded households that were still subjective.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nguyen - Head of the Military Command of Dien Chau commune shared: "We know it is difficult for both the people and the cadres, but in the face of a strong storm, safety is still paramount. Thanks to persistent mobilization, we have brought 100% of households in the danger zone to safety."
At the evacuation point, 23 classrooms were used. Student desks and chairs have been rearranged into temporary sleeping places. Shrimp paste, drinking water, and dry food are carefully prepared. The ceiling fan runs smoothly, the lights are bright all night - guaranteeing the government's efforts to "not let people lack food and drink".
Early in the morning of August 25, people continued to flock to the school to take safe shelter due to storm No. 5. The shoulders were worried because of their luggage, the eyes worriedly looking towards the sea. Outside, the wind whirls with each storm, the waves rise, while inside, the warm atmosphere of sharing, somewhat reducing fear.
Most of the people who had to be relocated and evacuated were in difficult and arduous circumstances. But in the midst of the storm, they are not alone, there are hands of the government and frontline forces to carry and protect.
