On the morning of November 10, continuing the 10th Session program, with 440/441 National Assembly deputies participating in the vote, the National Assembly passed the Resolution to elect Mr. Nguyen Van Quang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Supreme People's Court for the 2025-2030 term to hold the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court for the 2021-2026 term.
This Resolution takes effect from the time of approval by the National Assembly.
Previously, the National Assembly passed a resolution to dismiss Mr. Le Minh Tri from the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court for the 2021-2026 term.
The new Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Quang was born in 1969, from Hai Phong City. He has a Doctorate in Law; Senior in political theory. He is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee; a member of the 15th National Assembly.
During his working career, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang has held many important positions in the Procuracy sector such as: Director of the Hai Phong City People's Procuracy; Director of the Department of Procuracy for Civil Cases, the Supreme People's Procuracy; Director of the High-level People's Procuracy in Ho Chi Minh City; Director of the Department of Prosecution and Investigation of Economic Cases, the Supreme People's Procuracy; Deputy Director of the Supreme People's Procuracy.
In December 2019, the Secretariat transferred and appointed Mr. Nguyen Van Quang to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, term XXI, 2015-2020.
In October 2020, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang held the position of Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, term XXII, 2020-2025.
According to the Politburo's decision announced on the morning of June 30, 2025, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Secretary of the old Da Nang City Party Committee, was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the new Da Nang City Party Committee.
On September 3, 2025, the Prime Minister issued a decision to accept and appoint Mr. Nguyen Van Quang - Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee to hold the position of Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate Standing Committee.
On the afternoon of November 4, 2025, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang - Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate was appointed to join the Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Supreme People's Court for the 2025-2030 term.
