At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council listened to the Proposal of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council introducing Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to be elected as Chairwoman of the 19th Bac Giang Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026.
The provincial People's Council delegates voted. As a result, 100% (69/69) of the delegates attending the meeting agreed. Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong was elected Chairwoman of the 19th Bac Giang Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026.
Ms. Huong, 52 years old, from Viet Yen town; has a master's degree in law and a bachelor's degree in business accounting. Before becoming the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee on December 27, 2024, Ms. Huong held the positions of Vice Chairman of Bac Giang city; Deputy Head and then Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee.
Next, the Provincial People's Council conducted the election process for the position of Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term. As a result, Mr. Nguyen Viet Oanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, was elected as Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term with 100% of delegates attending the meeting in favor.
The new Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province is 45 years old, from Tan Yen district; has a master's degree in road and urban road construction, and a bachelor's degree in economic law.
Before becoming Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee on December 27, 2024, Mr. Oanh held many local positions such as Deputy Director of the Department of Transport; Deputy Secretary of Lang Giang District; Secretary of Luc Ngan District; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department.
Previously, in early October 2024, Mr. Le Anh Duong was dismissed from the position of Chairman of Bac Giang province due to violations related to projects implemented by Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company. Mr. Mai Son, the Standing Vice Chairman, was assigned by the Prime Minister to act as Chairman of the province until now.
