On the afternoon of December 16, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam - Secretary of the Central Military Commission - met with a typical delegation to attend the 8th Army Women's Congress (2025-2030).
Also attending were Politburo members: Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Organization Committee Le Minh Hung; Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac; Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Party Central Committee Secretary, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), General Nguyen Trong Nghia.

At the meeting, representatives of the Military Women's Committee presented a report on the results of the emulation work of military women in the past 5 years; typical examples shared outstanding achievements in their work.
Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam praised the collectives and members of the Army Women's Union, especially the very important and meaningful contributions and dedication to the task of building the Army, strengthening national defense; firmly building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The General Secretary emphasized that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnam People's Army has continuously matured, grown, and achieved many glorious feats, contributing worthily to the cause of national liberation, building and firmly defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. In those feats, there are very important contributions from the Army Women.
Since its establishment, associated with each step of growth, maturity, heroic fighting and glorious victory of the Vietnam Heroic People's Army, there have been worthy contributions from the Army women.

Regarding the task of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation, the General Secretary requested that the Vietnam People's Army must be revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern; in which, first of all, it is necessary to build for officers and soldiers of the Army to have steadfast political will, be absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, the people, be good at techniques and tactics, master new and modern weapons and equipment; have a creative mindset, have digital skills and master digital platforms; understand military art and the ability to cooperate in combat; have enduring and flexible health, meet the special requirements of military activities, be ready to fight, firmly protect the independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Fatherland; protect the Party, State, people and the socialist regime.
The General Secretary suggested that it is necessary to attach importance to arousing the desire to contribute and promote the role of the Women's Union, the potential and creativity of each female member in all areas of work.
The General Secretary requested the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the General Department of Politics, Party committees, and commanders of agencies and units in the entire army to continue to pay attention to leading, directing, and creating conditions for women to study and practice, both completing the unit's political tasks well and fulfilling the role of women in the family; continuing to focus on discovering and fostering more and more new factors and typical examples to honor and replicate, creating a wide spread in the Army and the whole society; striving for each individual Army woman to be a shining example; each Army woman's family to be a bright spot in the unit and residential areas.
The General Secretary believes that the Army women will continue to promote the tradition of "Loving the country, solidarity, creativity, Loyalty, and Ducklining", achieving many outstanding achievements, contributing more to the cause of building the army, strengthening national defense and defending the Fatherland, worthy of the good nature of the heroic Vietnam People's Army.
