The “Light Up Dien Bien” program is one of the highlights of the rural electricity supply project from the national grid implemented in Dien Bien province. In particular, the transformer station in Nam Cum village, Ngoi Cay commune, Muong Ang district is one of the earliest completed locations.
The power supply project in Nam Cum village, part of the rural power supply project in Muong Dang and Ngoi Cay (under the program "Lighting up Dien Bien"), was officially started in Chan 3 village, Muong Dang commune on December 11, 2024.
The project includes more than 16km of medium voltage lines, 206 medium voltage poles, more than 10km of low voltage lines, nearly 200 low voltage poles, 4 transformer stations and 237 meters. The total investment capital of the project is over 43 billion VND.
With close coordination between authorities at all levels, construction units and consensus of the people, the project was completed after 40 days of construction, despite the complex mountainous terrain, many equipment had to be imported from abroad, and the implementation time was very short.
The energization of the Nam Cum substation in Ngoi Cay commune is of great significance as it has brought national grid electricity to 73 households in Nam Cum village. These households represent 533 households in 12 villages and hamlets of 7 communes in Muong Ang district that have benefited from the “Light Up Dien Bien” program.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed that the completion of the power supply project in Nam Cum village and neighboring areas not only contributes to improving people's lives but also plays an important role in maintaining political security, sustainable economic development, and gradually narrowing the gap between regions.
"This is concrete evidence of the Party and State's concern for ethnic minorities in remote areas," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
Congratulating the people of Nam Cum village, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and his delegation also presented many Tet gifts to disadvantaged households, bringing a warm and affectionate atmosphere on the occasion of Tet.
