Immediately after landing at Dien Bien Airport, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and the working delegation directly went to the scene to urgently direct the recovery efforts from the floods in the border commune of Muong Pon, Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province.
Reporting to the Deputy Prime Minister, Vice Chairman of the Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Lo Van Tien said that the horrific flash flood occurred on the night of July 24 and early morning of July 25 in the border commune of Muong Pon, Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province, leaving severe consequences in terms of both human lives and property. The estimated damage is about 350 billion VND.
Sharing the difficulties of the party committee, the government, and the losses of the people, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang acknowledged the efforts in rescue and relief work and requested Dien Bien province to urgently arrange resettlement areas and relocate households from dangerous areas.
Previously, the horrific flash flood in the border commune of Muong Pon caused 4 deaths, 3 missing persons yet to be found, swept away dozens of houses, many houses collapsed, and about 100 other houses were damaged.
