On December 25, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha - Chairman of the National Civil Aviation Security Committee - chaired a meeting of the Committee on preparing for the 5-year term summary and launching a new Committee after the reform; proposing tasks and work plans for 2026, first of all tasks that need to be implemented in the first quarter of 2026.
According to the report of the Office of the National Civil Aviation Security Committee, in 2025, the total transportation output of the aviation industry is estimated to reach 83.5 million passengers (up 10.7% compared to 2024), 1.5 million tons of goods (up 18.5% compared to 2024).
The forces have received information, coordinated, handed over handling 152 cases of aviation security violations and prosecuted 2 criminal cases; 134 cases of smuggling and illegal transportation of weapons, support tools, banned goods, drugs, etc.
Currently, the Ministry of Public Security is implementing tasks related to the work of perfecting the Aviation Security Committee; approving and coordinating 17 delegations of foreign aviation authorities and foreign airlines to assess aviation security in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested the Committee's Office to urgently complete the plan, submit and issue a decision by competent authorities on the consolidation and establishment of the National Civil Aviation Committee and the working apparatus. This must be completed before January 15, 2026.
Regarding key tasks in the coming time, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Construction to urgently complete draft decrees on aviation safety and decrees on the organization and operation of the investigation agency for civil aviation safety incidents and accidents.
Coordinate with ICAO to organize a training course on investigation of civil aviation safety incidents and accidents for the Committee, serving the development of documents on establishment, selection of personnel and working procedures from now until July 1.
The Ministry of Construction shall preside over reviewing and assessing the causes of 114 aviation safety reports subject to mandatory reports arising in the past, thereby synthesizing and recommending appropriate management measures and solutions.
The Ministry of Public Security develops a specific plan, clearly reporting on aviation security work, especially during the 14th National Congress of the Party; continuing to review and re-evaluate network safety and security in aviation activities; promptly correcting unsatisfactory contents, ensuring absolute safety, avoiding the risk of encroachment...
The Deputy Prime Minister also suggested that the Ministry of Public Security, in addition to inspecting and ensuring security on the existing technical infrastructure, should develop a project to modernize the inspection of goods, luggage, passengers, and apply advanced science and technology to ensure security, safety, civilization and politeness.
The Ministry of National Defense coordinates with aviation agencies to review and approve plans for drones; develop rescue and relief plans, handle situations of violence and drone attacks, and avoid being passive or surprised when incidents occur.
