
Participating in the delegation were leaders of Nghe An province: Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of departments, branches, and Con Cuong commune.
In Con Cuong commune - a locality heavily affected by the circulation of storm No. 3 - the Deputy Prime Minister listened to a quick report from the leaders of the commune and province on the damage situation as well as the direction and implementation of response.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoai An - Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Con Cuong commune, heavy rain caused flooding in 24 villages and hamlets; of which 10 villages and hamlets were completely isolated, 5 villages were partially isolated. Thanks to proactive response plans, the commune has organized the timely evacuation of more than 2,000 people from 650 households to safe places, without recording any human losses. Many roads were deeply flooded, traffic was cut off, and the specific damage statistics could not be counted.
Nghe An province has also strictly implemented the direction of the Secretariat, the Prime Minister and central ministries and branches; continuously issued urgent telegrams, organized inspection and direction teams in vulnerable areas, mobilized all forces to participate in supporting people in responding to floods.

After inspecting the situation and listening to the report, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh highly appreciated the proactive and urgent spirit of the government and people in flood prevention. He emphasized the need for localities not to be subjective, continue to seriously implement the "4 on-site" motto, strengthen inspection and warning of risks at vulnerable points, spillways, and deep streams.
The Deputy Prime Minister also suggested that the government strengthen propaganda to raise people's awareness of natural disaster prevention, while quickly accessing and supporting food and necessities for isolated villages.
Next, the Deputy Prime Minister visited, encouraged and presented gifts to 3 households whose houses were completely flooded in Lien Tan village, Con Cuong commune. At the same time, he suggested that Nghe An province study and evaluate the flood peak this time to have a basis to recommend the Central Government to invest in upgrading National Highway 7A, the transportation system and building safe residential areas to long-term adapt to natural disasters.
