Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has just signed Decision No. 967/QD-TTg consolidating members of the National Steering Committee for Development of Vietnam's Pharmaceutical Industry for the period to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
According to the decision, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister is the Head of the Committee.
Ms. Dao Hong Lan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Health as Deputy Head of the Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Tri Thuc - Deputy Minister of Health as Standing Member.
The members include: Mr. Dang Hong Duc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Mr. Truong Thanh Hoai - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc - Deputy Minister of Finance; Mr. Le Xuan Dinh - Deputy Minister of Science and Technology; Mr. Hoang Trung - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Mr. Vu Tuan Cuong - Director of the Drug Administration of Vietnam, Ministry of Health.
According to Decision No. 705/QD-TTg dated July 23, 2024 of the Prime Minister, the National Steering Committee for Development of Vietnam's Pharmaceutical Industry for the period to 2030, with a vision to 2045, has the function of assisting the Prime Minister in researching, directing and coordinating the settlement of important inter-sectoral tasks in implementing the National Strategy for Development of Vietnam's Pharmaceutical Industry for the period to 2030, with a vision to 2045 approved according to Decision No. 1165/QD-TTg dated October 9, 2023 of the Prime Minister (Strategy 1165) and the Program for Development of Pharmaceutical Industry and Medicinal Materials Produced Domestically to 2030, with a vision to 2045 approved according to Decision No. 376/QD-TTg dated March 17, 2021 of the Prime Minister (Program 376).
The tasks and powers of the Steering Committee include: Researching and proposing to the Prime Minister directions and solutions to solve important inter-sectoral issues in order to implement and achieve the goals in Strategy 1165 and Program 376.
Helping the Prime Minister: Directing and coordinating activities and tasks between ministries, sectors, and localities in implementing Strategy 1165 and Program 376. Urging ministries, sectors and localities in implementing tasks in Strategy 1165 and Program 376; considering the contents of important projects and schemes on pharmaceutical industry development.
Requesting ministries, branches, localities and state agencies, organizations and individuals to provide information and documents to serve the implementation of the tasks of the Steering Committee.
Organize working groups to direct, urge, and promote the implementation of Strategy 1165 and Program 376. Implement other tasks and powers assigned by the Prime Minister.
