On June 19, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province issued an official dispatch requesting the new commune-level administrative units to urgently complete preparations to officially come into operation from July 1, 2025.
Pleiku ward was established on the basis of the arrangement of 5 communes and wards, including: Hoa Lu, Tay Son, Hoi Thuong, Phu Dong and Tra Da. This is the locality chosen as the location to implement the 2-level government model, focusing on handling administrative procedures and document management.
From June 30, the remaining communes and wards in the province will simultaneously test this model, based on the results and experience drawn from the operation process in Pleiku ward.
The implementation of the new model aims to help the government apparatus soon stabilize and operate effectively, better meeting the needs of people and businesses, thereby contributing to promoting socio-economic development.
The Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee has also directed relevant agencies and units to proactively coordinate with the Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee in preparation work, while emphasizing the role and responsibility of the head in organizing implementation.
