The Nguyen Van Linh residential area project has an investment scale of VND 2,160 billion. Currently, this project is facing difficulties in compensation and site clearance.
According to the People's Committee of Pleiku City, the functional sector has mobilized and persuaded 434 households to agree on the plan and compensation price for land, crops... according to regulations and State norms. More than 300 plots of land of the people have been handed over to the investor to serve the construction of the items, with the compensation and support amount of 677.6 billion VND. The remaining 327 households with land and assets in the clearance planning area have not agreed to receive compensation.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Do Thi Ngoc Hanh - Deputy Director of the Land Fund Development Center of Pleiku City - said: "Many households refuse to relocate and resettle because they think the compensation and support prices of the State are still low. Some households are still worried that when they move their real estate, the city government will auction the land, many people rush to buy land at higher market prices, leading to loss of rights".
However, according to Ms. Hanh, people do not fully understand and accurately understand the policy of the City People's Committee. The Nguyen Van Linh residential area and road project only serves the work of renovating infrastructure and urban appearance according to the plan.
The cleared land will be used for the purpose of a 94ha resettlement project to serve local people. This project will also serve resettlement for households in other planning areas of the city. Each household is provided with a maximum of 150m2/plot along with a complete transportation infrastructure system, electricity, water, and trees.
Currently, the land along the Nguyen Van Linh road project is mainly agricultural land, some households have built temporary and illegal houses for many years. The capital for the construction of Nguyen Van Linh Street is only a small part, while the compensation, clearance, and funding for vocational training and job conversion for people account for the majority.
To date, Pleiku city has contributed the highest capital with the amount of 500 billion VND to the Nguyen Van Linh street residential area project from the Gia Lai Provincial Land Development Fund.
To ensure the key project is on schedule, Chairman of the People's Committee of Pleiku City Doan Huu Dung requested the Land Fund Development Center and the People's Committees of wards to mobilize and propagate to people about the significance of the project for socio-economic development; approve the clearance, compensation, and relocation support plan.
The city of Plieku strives to have a clean site to open Nguyen Van Linh Street in February 2025. The Nguyen Van Linh road project will be an important traffic axis connecting the East - West of the southern area of Pleiku city.
