On the morning of March 6, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with representatives of female leaders and managers of central agencies and presented the Kovalevskaia Award in 2025, on the occasion of International Women's Day March 8.
Also attending were Ms. Le Thi Thuy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations; Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Vietnam Women's Union.
Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that, in any circumstances or position, Vietnamese women are always the embodiment of the best values; they are the people who strive every day to "wool flowers and weave brocade" to create new miracles to embellish the landscape of the country; contributing more "red" bricks to build a prosperous and strong Vietnam.
The Head of Government stated clearly that caring for women is not only a political task, but also a deep gratitude and affirmation: Women are the ones who "sew seeds of character", "nurture aspirations", "nurture souls", "develop knowledge" and "realize dreams" of each person.
Women are not only the ones who keep the fire of family happiness, but also the ones who hold the "key" to unlock the destiny of national and ethnic development, shape the future of the country and ensure the stability and sustainability of the people.

In the coming time, the Prime Minister requests all levels, sectors, and localities to focus on implementing key tasks.
First, focus on thoroughly grasping and effectively implementing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, thematic resolutions of the Politburo and the guidelines and policies of the Party and State in developing women, implementing the national strategy on gender equality and promoting the role of female intellectuals in the new development stage.
Second, pay attention to building institutions and policies to develop a source of female leaders and managers at all levels; encourage and create favorable conditions for women to be proactive, creative, participate in scientific research and contribute more deeply to the strategic goals of national development, especially in science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and green transformation.

Third, women's unions at all levels should promote the representative role of women from all walks of life in advising and policy planning; become a "common home", a reliable address for all women; proactively, creatively, and effectively implement emulation movements to build Vietnamese women in the new era, support women in digital transformation, green transformation, and economic development...
Pioneering in the program of social security, family happiness, and health care as directed by General Secretary To Lam.
Fourth, the Kovalevskaia Award Committee continues to select and honor more typical female collectives and individuals with outstanding scientific research achievements, highly applicable and widely spread.
The Vietnam Women's Union is studying to organize more awards to honor young female scientists not only in the field of natural sciences but also in social sciences and humanities.
The Prime Minister also proposed to study and propose to competent authorities to organize the "Talented - Creative - Dedicated Women" Award, awarded annually on October 20th, to honor the efforts and contributions of Vietnamese Women.
Fifth, Vietnamese women should further promote their important missions in all fields of social life. Strive to build and create the values and identity of Vietnamese women in the new era according to the motto: Keeping the fire of tradition - Leading creativity - Mastering knowledge - Overcoming oneself - Confidently integrating - Spreading compassion - Creating the future.
The Kovalevskaia Prize in 2025 was awarded to 1 collective and 1 individual. The collective prize honors female scientists with the cluster of works "Applying biocatalysts to enhance the value of Vietnamese agricultural products" (under the Faculty of Food Engineering, School of Chemistry and Life Sciences, Hanoi University of Science and Technology) with works aimed at researching the application of biocatalysts (enzymes and microorganisms) to sustainably develop health-good food products from Vietnamese raw materials, while exploiting food industry by-products to increase value, towards a zero-waste production model and circular economy.
Individual prizes were awarded to Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Viet Nga, Director of the Vietnam-Japan Institute of High Technology, Senior Lecturer of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, expert in the field of water and wastewater treatment techniques in Vietnam, with a research orientation closely linked to Vietnam's practical requirements for environmental protection, energy security and climate change adaptation.
