Resolving administrative procedures after merger
In Ha Long city, after merging Yet Kieu ward into Tran Hung Dao ward, the new Tran Hung Dao ward has a natural area of 2.3km2 and a population of 28,204 people.
After the arrangement, Ha Long city has 32 commune-level administrative units, including 20 wards and 12 communes.
Also on this occasion, Ha Long City Party Committee announced the decision to establish Tran Hung Dao Ward Party Committee under Ha Long City Party Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Quy, Head of the Organizing Committee of Ha Long City Party Committee - said: "Right from the time of developing the project to merge the two wards, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee directed the development of a roadmap to arrange the staff apparatus from the end of 2023. The goal is to ensure that the merger process takes place smoothly, in harmony, and the apparatus operates stably right from the start.
The City Party Committee has previously transferred cadres and resolved the regime for cadres who are old enough to retire, and 3 cadres who requested early retirement. Up to now, the apparatus has been operating stably, with a full number of personnel in the Standing Committee, Party Committee, Government, Fatherland Front and other organizations.
Mr. Le Hoang Hiep, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran Hung Dao Ward, said: "According to the wishes of the people, the names of the new neighborhoods will be named Yet Kieu, following the order of the 6 neighborhoods of the old Yet Kieu Ward. The plan to change the neighborhood name has been publicly posted until November 16. After being approved, we will carry out the procedures to change the administrative boundaries for the people of the 6 neighborhoods of the old Yet Kieu Ward."

Also on November 1, Quang Ninh province announced the Decision to establish the Dong Trieu City Party Committee and presented the decision of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee on the establishment of the Dong Trieu City Party Committee on the basis of all 48 grassroots party cells and party members of the old town.
Dong Trieu City Party Committee will officially come into operation from November 1, 2024, with a roadmap to complete the apparatus within 30 days.
At the conference, the Dong Trieu City Party Committee announced the decision to establish the Party Committee of Duc Chinh Ward, Viet Dan Commune and 4 communes to be upgraded to wards, including Binh Duong, Thuy An, Binh Khe, and Yen Duc. The Party Cells of the People's Court and the People's Procuracy of Dong Trieu City were also established, transferring from the town to the city.
From a purely agricultural district, up to now, 100% of Dong Trieu communes have basically completed the criteria for a model new rural area; The economic growth rate in the period of 2021 - 2023 reached 13.6%, the average income per capita in 2023 reached more than 163 million VND, 1.6 times higher than the national average. The economic structure has shifted towards industry - construction.
Mr. Nguyen Van Ngoan - Chairman of Dong Trieu City People's Committee - said: "In the coming time, Dong Trieu will focus on investing in infrastructure in the direction of regional connectivity connecting Hai Duong, Hai Phong, and Bac Giang provinces. Attract investors for industrial clusters and industrial parks in the direction of high technology, environmental friendliness, and limiting the use of natural resources. Regarding tourism, continue to preserve relics, create new tourism products such as Golf tourism, experiential tourism. Develop agriculture in the direction of linking value chain production, improving quality and output".
Thus, from November 1, Quang Ninh province has 5 cities, 1 town and 7 districts with 171 administrative units at commune, ward and town levels.
