On October 25, continuing the 10th Session, the National Assembly held a separate meeting on personnel work under the direction of Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
The National Assembly listened to Standing Vice Chairman of the Delegation Work Committee Nguyen Huu Dong present a report summarizing the opinions of National Assembly deputies discussed at the Delegation on approving the appointment of Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term.
With 429/430 delegates participating in the vote, the National Assembly passed a Resolution on approving the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint Mr. Ho Quoc Dung as Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term.
After completing the personnel, the Government leaders include Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Deputy Prime Ministers: Nguyen Hoa Binh (Standing Deputy Prime Minister), Tran Hong Ha, Le Thanh Long, Ho Duc Phoc, Bui Thanh Son, Mai Van Chinh, Nguyen Chi Dung, Ho Quoc Dung, Pham Thi Thanh Tra.
Mr. Ho Quoc Dung was born on August 15, 1966; hometown Gia Lai province. He holds the position of member of the 13th Party Central Committee; Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee (July 2025 - October 2025).
The new Deputy Prime Minister has a high level of political theory; Master's degree in Law.
During his working career, before 2009, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung held the following positions: Deputy Chief of Office of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee; Vice Chairman of Phu Cat District People's Committee, Binh Dinh Province; Deputy Chief of Office of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee; Chief of Office of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee.
2009: Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee for the 2006-31 term.
June 2011: Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province for the 2011-2016 term.
November 14, 2014: Deputy Secretary of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, term XVIII, 2010-2015; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, term XI, 2011-2016.

July 1, 2025: He was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee (new) for the 2020-2025 term.
